I go to my third period class, history, feeling happy, and like I've accomplished something, and as I sit down, Lina goes and ruins my perfect day. She turns towards the back of the classroom, where I sit, and lifts her chin up like she doesn't care.

"What's up, potato sack?" She asks. I feel myself blush and look down at my outfit. I'm wearing leggings, a shirt, combat boots, and my sweatshirt. I don't think anything's wrong with it, but my sweatshirt does make me look like I have no figure. And I mean, I'm not hot or anything. More like cute.

I just roll my eyes, and as I get settled in my seat, I glance at the empty seat next to the desk that's connected to mine. I feel so lonely. All my friends are in other classes.

An ear-shattering sound from my teacher, Professor Gueya, as he claps his big hands loudly, breaks my train of thought. The spot between my ribs that tell me when something bad is going to happen starts to itch. I flinch at the sound, and the itch, but I don't think anything is wrong. I've never been more wrong.

A boy walks in and I swear I can hear all of the girls sighing. And they're right to sigh. His hair is long and his bangs fall over his eyes. His eyes are so green, they're almost as hypnotizing as Krissy. He walks with a little slouch that comes off as cool, and not like he's an old man without a cane.

He wears a black leather jacket, with a gray shirt, and black skinny jeans, with dirty old sneakers. There's something tucked into his shirt, but I don't know what it is. Lina licks her lips and then she gives me a smirk.

Then new boy looks straight at me and winks, and Lina actually gasps, like she can't believe he didn't look at her first. And I can't believe it either. But it's not the wink that's got my attention. Gavin's eyes just changed color. For a second, his eyes turned blue, and then they went back to their green color. I look around to see if anyone else noticed, but they can't seem to get past how cute he looks.

Then I realize he just winked at me. Winked. My eyes widen slightly and I look away, reddening.

"Students, we have a new student here today. His name is Gavin Fieldshire, and I expect you to welcome him." Lina flashes him a melting smile, and crosses her arms, trying to flirt with him. Ha. More like just showing her cleavage.

"Sit wherever you like, Gavin," Professor Gueya says. He nods and starts to walk towards one of the empty seats. The only empty seats are beside me, and Lina, who keeps giving him smiles, and blinking her mascara drowned eyelashes at a hundred times per minute.

Lina looks 3 seats behind her, and gives me a cold little smirk. I ignore her, which she is disappointed at. She turns around, and as he starts to make his way to the seat next to hers, Lina's smile is so wide, I bet her face hurts.

She turns towards me and gives me a look that says, I won, you lost, but when she turns around again, she notices that Gavin has just passed her, and is walking towards the one next to me. Her perfect face falls, but she covers it up with one that will promise severe pain later. I just silently scoff, and watch as Gavin takes his seat.

Professor Gueya starts his lesson and every girl in the classroom gives me an evil glare, and I suddenly feel angry, but all of that dissolves as Gavin taps me on the arm.

"Hey," he says. His voice is like warm honey, melting and sweet. I blush, which I hope isn't that noticeable, and stumble over my next words.

"H-hi." I tell him. I look away, a bit embarrassed and nervous at the same time. I look back and Gavin leans close to whisper to me.

"What's your name?" He asks me. He's close enough for me to smell the spicy cologne that he uses, and the sharp minty smell of his toothpaste.

"Delphi," I answer. He nods, and gives me a smile. My legs turn to jello and I have to look away. As I sneak peaks out of the corner of my eye, I notice that he's staring at me. When he realizes that I'm looking at him, he smirks and looks away. I look away too, but not before a smile breaks out on my face.

And for the rest of the time in class, it's like that. I look at him, he looks at me, we smile.

When the lunch bell rings, I feel relieved. I don't have to keep looking like a strawberry anymore. I pack my stuff up, but before I can take a step towards the door, Gavin touches my shoulder. I stop, my breathing suddenly fast.

I turn around, and face Gavin, trying to control myself.

"Do you wanna go hang out after school today?" He asks. I just shrug my shoulders casually, as casually as you can standing in front of a hot guy.

"So, like...a date?" I ask. My cheeks redden, but his seem to get redder.

"Kind of?" The way he answers sounds kind of like a question.

"I have to ask my parents for permission first, and then I have to ask my friends. We were supposed to go somewhere today." He nods and we walk out of the classroom together. As we walk towards my locker for my books, I take out my phone and text my friends, some who are still in class until next period, when they have lunch, and the others heading towards the cafeteria.

FUTUREDELPHI: Hey, met new guy in class. wants 2 hang after school w/ me. is it k 4 me to skip?

HIPPOKRISSY: Sure, whatev. have fun!

BLU3-3Y3DK3LLI3: Ya, is he cute?

Everyone else tells me it's okay and that I need to tell them how it went. My friends who are waiting at the cafeteria tell me to hurry up. When I text my parents, they let me, and I quickly reply to my friends with:

FUTUREDELPHI: Yea! OK, thx!

As I look up from my phone, Gavin is staring at me, well, at least, my chest. I give him a disgusted look, saying, "Yeah, eyes up here," Gavin manages to look embarressed but then he waves his hands in the air like I've got it all wrong.

"No, it's the necklace. I was staring at the necklace." He says, blushing furiously. He looks away, and only manages to look at my shoes.

"Okaaay." I say, uncomfortable and slightly suspicious. He points at the necklace that I put under my shirt.

"Could I see it?" He asks.

"Only if you show me yours." I tell him. Sudden alarm goes on his face, but it goes away, and I wonder if I'd imagined it.

"Okay then, never mind. The necklace was kind of special to me. My mother passed away, and left me this in her will." He says, looking kind of sad.

"Oh, I'm so sorry, I didn't know." I say, feeling guilty I brought that I it up, as we walk towards the lunch tables. He just shakes his head and smiles softly.

"It's okay, it's not your fault." We stay quiet until we enter the cafeteria doors. Inside, everyone is wild. You would expect food fights to happen everyday, but they don't.

"Do you want to sit with my friends and I?" I ask him. I point towards my two other friends (besides my best friends), Chris and Alex, the two boys who we've known since kindergarten. Gavin just shakes his head, and he gets a look on his face, which he directs to Alex and Chris, that I can't decipher. It looks a bit like jealousy.

"Nah. I'll just catch up with you later, 'kay?" He asks me. I let out a breathless "okay" and watch him leave. He's like an angel. A bad angel.
