"Danny!"

A voice called me out of my sleep stirring me awake. My eyes flutter open and light pierce my vision making me groan. A hand shields my eyes as I slowly sit up.

Where am I again? I feel the green grass of the camp, the wood of Thalia's tree. My necklace dangles from my neck. On it are five beads. A orange shirt hugs my upper body. The smell of strawberries played on my nose as the wind blows.

That's right, I was at camp. I could feel tears trickle down his face. That was a nightmare, a nightmare of when my dad died.

I look down to the ring that hugs my finger. My dad's finger. The last thing he gave me before he died.

"Bad dream?" A familiar voice said making me snap to attention. My eyes by then had adjusted to the light. I bring my gaze up to the girl who stood over me.

Instinctively I blushed as I wiped drooled from the side of my mouth. Above me in all her glory stood Selina Beauregard.

If I had to describe Selina in one word it would always be beautiful. Something natural for a daughter of Aphrodite; her soft skin was tanned and without pimples. Her features were something you'd see on a runway model. Her black hair was long, easily it went past her mid back. Her light blue eyes soft.

"Y'know, I've seen you drool a dozen times already, right?" She said with a smirk. She wore an orange camp half-blood shirt similarly to me.

My blush deepened as I scrambled to my feet. "N-no you didn't."

Yes she did.

Me and her had recently gone on a quest for her mom. For about a month they hunted down some object the Olympian lost. Over the course of that month we had a lot of time to get to know each other. That's how my crush started to develop.

"Anyway, how's it hanging?" I said as the blush started to fade. I averted my gaze to the camp as I spoke. Couldn't hold eye contact.

The camp itself was as normal as ever. Kids shooting arrows in the archery range; people climbing the climbing wall trying not to fall into the lava. Children of Demeter lounging in the strawberry fields, etc.

The only thing different was the storm clouds that dangerously bordered the camp.

"What are you doing napping on the boarder of camp?" Selina asked with a raised eyebrow.

I hummed.

It wasn't like this was the first time I did it. I regularly found myself on half-blood hill taking a nap or just sitting around. I always felt a weird connection to Thalia's tree. Maybe because I knew the girl before I came to camp.

"It's comfortable, easier to sleep here than in the Hermes cabin where everyone's all loud." I said with a small chuckle.

She hummed as she looked down at the ground in front of Thalia's tree. "Maybe you're a bear or something because I could never get used to sleeping outside."

"Hey, you did it before." I said referring to our time questing together. She shook her head with a small giggle.

"It felt so dirty sleeping outside. Plus I've still got sores from doing it."

I roll my eyes. "You're being dramatic."

"You're one to talk, little boy." She teased making me blush. I shook my head as if rejecting the idea.

"Stop calling me that."

"But it's true."

"You're only like a year older, you're not even eighteen yet."I shot back in protest.

"Still decades older than you." She said as she punched my arm. I show no reaction as I lightly punch her back.

"Hey, since when did I say you could punch me?"

"You literally punched me first." I said with a raised eyebrow.

"You can't do what I do." Then she paused as if she suddenly remembered something she wanted to tell me. "Oh yea, I wanted to let you know..."

I looked at her with curiosity. I make a motion for her to spit it out. She does so. "You remember the new kid that everyone's talking about?"

"Kind of hard not to." I say with a light snicker. "The first thing he does before coming into camp is drag in Grover after slaying the Minotaur. He's like a living legend." And what made things more interesting was him being the same age as me.

Sure I killed some nasty monsters before but the Minotaur was a crazy feat. At the moment though the boy was unconscious. After slaying the man-bull he passed out and hasn't woken up since. Admittedly I was interested in fighting him. It was a chance to fight someone half-decent who wasn't Luke.

"I think he woke up a little while ago." Selina said thoughtfully as she played with a bit of hair.

"Really?" I asked with a bit of excitement. I'd never got the chance to see the guy yet.

She opened her mouth to say something but before she could finish a BOOM sounded. It erupted through the camp, coming from the bathrooms. Ms and Selina looked at each other with a bit of confusion.

"I'd reckon it was the new guy." I said with a smirk before setting off down the hill. Selina slowly followed behind me saying something about me being drawn to danger.

I could hear people mutter and whisper as I passed. They talked about some black haired kid who hand was coiled around a Minotaur horn as he walked.

As I got closer to the bathroom my nose crinkled at the light smell of toilet water. What did this guy blow up the bathroom or something?

My guess proved right when Clarisse and a few Ares campers stumped past me. I couldn't help but burst out into laughter and point at them. They were drenched, each step they made had a wet thump to it. They reeked of toilet water.

Clarisse's ugly mug twisted into a sneer but she said nothing to me. She continued stomping to her cabin while muttering something about creaming someone named Prissy.

"Looks like her little initiation bullying didn't go so well." I said as I wiped a tear from my face. It was always good to see Clarisse in distress. I was loving whoever this guy was already.

Finally, as I came upon the bathroom I noticed water pooling out. Everything seemed to be wet like someone ripped out all the pipes. The smell was disgusting but I tried to ignore it.

In the center of it all was a raven haired boy. His hair was windswept, his skin tanned like he spent all day in the sun; he looked to be about my age, his face seemed to have a natural hint of mischief. Sea green orbs met my black ones.

Next to him was a familiar blonde girl. Her eyes as gray as always, she was soaked like Clarisse and her gang. Annabeth.

The only one not wet in this whole situation was the one at the center, this new kid. Little did I know this guy would end up being a life long best friend.

"Howdy, names' Danny Drake." I said introducing myself rather casually. I ignored all the water that flooded out of the bathroom.

He responded back. "Percy Jackson.
