I stood atop camp half-blood hill with a troubled look.

I wondered if I'd return.

Now that may sound edge and dramatic, but it's true. Death is something a half-blood has to fight everyday. Not to mention this was the most important quest in the last century.

After Percy went up to the attic it was quickly decided on who was going.

It was a given I had to go.

Then there was Annabeth who all but inserted herself in.

Then Grover who had to steel his nerves a bit.

Packing didn't take long.

It wasn't like i didn't have a decent amount of stuff, I just only ever found a handful of objects as essential.

With me I brought my enchanted weapons along with both mortal cash and drachmas. Besides that I got the standard supply of nectar and ambrosia along with a change of close. And oh of course couldn't forget the picture of me and dad I would keep in my pocket for good luck.

Annabeth packed her magic hat that her mom had gifted her for her twelfth birthday, a book to read when she got bored, and a long bronze knife that she hid in her sleeve.

That day she was bossy, more so than usual, telling me stuff like I shouldn't joke about us being ripped to shreds by monsters and stuff.

Under her bossy layers I could see she was worried. It was easy to tell why. This was her first ever quest, not only did she have to prove herself but this was the first time she was let out into the world in years. "Ease up birdy we'll be fine," I said patting her back with a reassuring grin. "Well unless we fail and get obliterated."

"Aren't you so helpful." She said sarcastically.

Grover wore his usual getup when he had to go into the mortal world, fake feet to hide his hooves, jeans to hide the fur, and a green Rasta-style cap so if it rained people wouldn't see the tips of his horns from his hair flattening. In his bag he had countless pieces of scrap metal and apples to snack on. The only thing he held besides that were some reed pipes that his dad had carved for him, and don't tell him I told you this but he only knew two songs and both he didn't exactly play good.

Percy carried.... Well basically nothing. His options of items to bring were limited since he only really had clothes the camp gave him.

As we waved bye to the other campers(hopefully not for the last time) we took one last look at camp before starting downhill. Of course before I left I had to bid Thalia farewell.

At the bottom Chiron waited for us in his wheelchair form along side Argus, head of security.

I waved at the man covered in eyes as Chiron introduced him to Percy.

"So Argus," I said walking up to the man with a new set of questions since the last time I saw him. "can you see even when you're sleeping? Or do like all of your eyes have to be close?" I asked him with a raised eyebrow.

He hummed for a moment as if it was a decent question.

Before he could answer Luke came downhill in a rush as if he didn't want to miss us.

"Hey" he said panting, "glad I caught up to you." Annabeth blushed making me chuckle.

"Why don't you ask him to kiss ya already?" I whispered in her ear earning a sharp punch to the arm.

"Just wanted to wish you guys good luck." He paused for a second, "and.... I thought maybe you could use these." Luke saying passing over a pair of familiar sneakers to Percy.
