TThe Americans when over to the very tall man. He was the size of one of the earthborns. Percy kept fiddling with riptide, Nico almost summoned a skeleton, Annabeth already had a plan, and Thalia made the air grow thin. Before they could to the back of the group, all of the smallest students were surrounding them. They saw the others go to carriages pulled by weird horse creatures. The man caught them looking at the horses and his expression softened. The man walked towards them.
"Thems there's are thersels. They can only be seen by those who've seen death. " He cleared his throat. "The names ruebus hagrid. I'm the grounds keeper and care of magical creatures teacher here at ol' hogwarts. You must the exchange students. "
The demigods were shocked the giant man talked to them. Annabeth was the first to snap to her senses. She talked very carefully and a bit hesitantly.
"Yes, we are. What do you mean they can only be seen by those who've seen death? I've never heard of them before. Have you Nico?"
Nico looked paler then normal. He could hear the thresals calling out to him. He understood what Percy meant about horses and fish talking to him mentally. It was weird hearing voices in your head saying 'my Lord! It's so nice to see you!' Or simply,'my Lord'. Then he remembered a conversation he had with thantos a few months ago about magical creatures. He had mentioned something about horses he had made with Poseidon once to honor Hades. It was in one of the extremely rare moments when Hades and Poseidon were on very friendly terms. Hectare even blessed them so mortals couldn't see them. These must be the same horses.
"Mr.t mentioned them once. They're very gentle. They wouldn't hurt me or Percy for sure. I can't say the same for you two. I don't think uncle is on very good terms with our beloved cousin quite yet. They're on slightly better terms since the incident, and you guys aren't dead yet, but we should still keep our distance."
Hagrid looked a bit uneasy at what Nico said, but shook it off. He reminded himself that Dumbledore trusted these Americans. He went over to the boats then called all the first years over. He told them that this was how they would get to hogwarts, and only four to a boat. Annabeth, Percy, Thalia, and Nico all got into one of the boats. Percy made it go a bit faster then the others but not too fast. The castle greener larger as they got closer to it. It was truly magnificent. When they got off the boats giant man lead them into the building and up a staircase where a woman was waiting. She was average height. She looked grandma age, and very stern. She worn dark green robes and a green hat. She smiled when she saw all of them.
"I am professor Mcgonagll. I am the deputy headmistress of hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry." She said as she introduced herself. "When you walk through these doors you will be sorted into your houses. Your house will be like family while you are here. You will sleep, eat, and take classes with your house. You can win points for your house, or you can lose points for your house. There is Gryffindor for the brave, slytherin for the cunning, hufflepuff for the loyal, and ravenclaw for the wise. Please get into two straight lines and follow me into the great hall."
The children and demigods did as she said. Behind the large doors was a humongous dining hall. There were four long tables filled with students. There were floating candles brightly illuminating the hall. In the middle of the room was a talking hat on a stool. It was at Percy glanced up at the ceiling and gasped. It looked like the sky!
"Annie look! The ceiling is like the sky!"
Annabeth just sighed. "Its an enchantment Percy. It's supposed to look like that. "
"Oh." The lines stopped moving forward. Percy accidentally ran into Thalia.
"Watch it kelp head!" She growled. Professor McGonagll started to call names.
