Annabeth made very little progress towards normal life. By Halloween, she was eating once every three days. She drank just enough water to stay alive. She was a shell of her former self. She went back to New York for the funeral, but couldn't bare to stay where she had so many memories. The ceremony it self was beautiful, it was perfect for Percy. Sally could barely keep herself together through the whole thing. She always knew Percy would probably die young, but she never imagined it would be this hard. Paul was one of her only sources of comfort. Both of the camps were fully in attendance, everyone had some how been affected by the sea god's son. Carter and Sadie came as well, even though they knew him from only two or three meetings. It was a dark day when the viewed his body, something unusual for a dead demigod, but had been at Sally's instance. It was the only way see would allow her only son to be buried at sea, as he had once said were his wishes. Nico, Sally, Annabeth, Thalia, and Jason had all said some words to commemorate the great hero. Nico had traveled back to his father's realm after they sent off the body. He knew what he would find, but he wished it wasn't so. Percy had gotten an eternal punishment. It wasn't as bad as usual oath breakers, since he had been a great hero and wasn't completely aware of his doings, but it was bad just as well. Currently he was being forced to relive the moments where Annabeth had been scared of him. That was Tisiphone's punishment. Megaera's punishment was next. It would only last a few decades, but would be nothing compared to Allecto's punishment. That would be his never-ending torture. Since Allecto really didn't like Percy while he was living, there was no doubt in Nico's mind. Percy would personally get her worst punishment. He could tell none of this to Percy's loved ones or friends. He talked it over with Hades, he got permission to lie and say Percy was in Elysium. He hoped no one would ask an funny questions, and thankfully they didn't. He felt truly sorry for Percy. He had watched his judgement, he did more then Nico knew for others. Percy's heart had been so pure when it was completely his own. Nico wished he could rewind time and make it so Percy was never possessed by Hermes. He had thoughts like these his whole time at Hogwarts. Annabeth said she couldn't stay in america after what had happened. She returned to Hogwarts in vain hopes that Percy might become a ghost. Nico stayed with her for a while, to stop the nightmares, but she never screamed at night. her worst fear had became her reality. Nico saw after a month of fruitless attempts to help her that he was useless. He left in early October to help Hades with paperwork and keep things running at camp.

Annabeth had stayed in the Gryffondor common room for days at a time. She ignored all attempts of the wizards to talk about what had happened. Harry and Ron had gone back to being jerks after the initial shock had worn off. They made fun of Annabeth because they didn't understand her. Hermoine was kind, and always seemed to know what to do. Luna and Draco were rarely seen outside of classes, they feared the day Annabeth returned to her old self.

In mid September, Annabeth returned to going to classes. Work kept her mind off Percy, if only for a little while.
In the beginning of October, if one had a very keen eye, Annabeth could be seen making the slightest of changes. She was eating one more bit per usual at every meal, which was the tiniest amount over the minimum to stay alive. She almost smiled at a joke, but caught herself. She even mumbled words sometimes, as if she wanted to speak, but didn't. She didn't sit in the exact spot were he had died, but in a chair.

Harry Potter had it all. He was featured in a magazine almost monthly, and he loved the attention. Hermoine and Ginny seemed to be a bit distant, but Ron getting just as much attention as he was. Ron loved it more, and had sent a copy of his fan magazine to all of his family and friends. The two were officially obsessed with fame. Harry had been getting close in fifth and fourth year, but now he was a monster. If Ron would have been the least bit jealous he would have been alone, but he was just as enamored with himself as the boy who lived.
