Author's POV -

Ana stepped out of his room to retrieve the surprise she had mentioned earlier. Clutching the item in her hands, she returned, her heart racing with anxiety about how he would react upon seeing it. She hoped he wouldn't be angry with her. Taking a deep breath to steady herself, she entered the room, the object still firmly in her grasp.

As he noticed her walk in with something, a wave of memories washed over him. It had been four years since he last saw it, let alone held it, and the pain from his injury lingered vividly in his mind. His expression flickered, revealing a blend of nostalgia and bitterness, and he whispered, almost painfully,
"My violin..."

Ana gave a slight nod, her nerves evident as she observed the change in his demeanor

Ana gave a slight nod, her nerves evident as she observed the change in his demeanor.
"Y-yeah, it's... yours. I took it out of the storage room."

He gazed at her, his eyes reflecting a mix of sorrow and frustration.
"Why would you bring this to me? It's just a reminder of what I can no longer do. You know how much I loved playing it, and now... now I can't even hold it without feeling this relentless pain."

"That's why I brought it back to you. Because you... you love to play it,"
she replied, inching the violin closer to him, encouraging him to take it.

He let out a soft scoff, anger and bitterness creeping into his tone. "Love to play it? Yes, I did. But do you really think I need a constant reminder of my loss? You don't understand, Ana. Every time I see that violin, it feels like a punch to the gut. It's a constant reminder of my injury. Do you enjoy watching me suffer?"

"No, you haven't lost anything. Your hands are just as they were before. You can still play it. You just haven't tried since the accident, believing you lost everything. It deserves to be in your hands, not left in the storage room to collect dust," she said, her voice tinged with desperation as she sought to make him see her point.

He clenched his jaw, frustration surging within him as he watched her persist in her attempts to persuade him.

"Just like before? Do you really think that if I could, I wouldn't be playing? I've made the effort, and all it does is inflict more pain on me. Don't pretend you understand what I'm experiencing. You have no idea of the suffering, both physical and emotional, that I've endured since the accident. So please, spare me the 'you-can-still-play' lectures. It's not that simple, especially when everything you cherished has been stripped away."

"No, you're misunderstanding me. I truly empathize with what you're facing. I recognize your pain, and I'm not trying to add to it. I know you've made an effort, but that was just once, right after your accident when your body was still weak. That's why I want you to try playing now. You might surprise yourself and find you can play like you used to. Just give it a chance, please..."

He glared at her, anger still flickering in his eyes.
"You think it's that easy? Just give it another shot, and everything will magically fall into place? My body isn't going to heal overnight, and the pain won't vanish just because I decide to pick up that damn violin. It's not just my body that's been shattered; my spirit and passion have been crushed by this accident."
