Ana's POV -
I was just about to leave his room when Aunty Maria walked in.
"Oh, you two have met?"
I nodded and smiled slightly at her. She glanced at Yoongi and then at me, noticing he was acting grumpy and cold towards me as well.
"Yoongi, son, did you have your lunch?"
"Yes, Miss Maria, I already ate," he replied politely.
"Oh, he behaves nice to Aunty Maria," i thought to myself, observing their interaction, but I left from there after a moment.
Yoongi's POV -
I saw her leave and turned back to Miss Maria.
"So, Yoongi, what do you think of her?"
"Huh? What do you mean, Miss Maria?" I asked, feeling confused.
She laughed and said, "I mean, she seems like a nice girl. I noticed determination in her eyes; maybe she won't leave like the others."
I sighed. "I don't know, Miss Maria, but I really don't care if she stays or goes."
"Yoongi, you consider me as your mother, right?"
I looked at her and replied, "Of course, Miss Maria, you're like a mother to me."
She smiled and said, "Then please listen to me and at least try to be nice to her, okay? Did you see her face just now? She looked upset."
I sighed again. "I already told you, Miss Maria, I don't care, but since you asked, I'll try to be nice to her."
She smiled. "That's my boy. Now rest; I'll check on you before I go home, alright?"
I nodded as she helped me settle comfortably in bed. I closed my eyes, thinking about this new girl. "I still believed she would leave like the others, but as Miss Maria said, I would try to be nice to her."
Ana's POV-
I returned to the kitchen and set the tray on the counter, thinking about him and his attitude. Maria Aunty was right; he was cold and grumpy. But I wouldn’t leave like the others. I'm here as his caregiver, and I would do my job with commitment, no matter what. I decided to head to my room when Maria Aunty walked in, and I smiled at her.
“Oh Ana, where are you going?”
“Aunty, I was just going to my room.”
“Please don’t be upset about Yoongi’s behavior, okay? He’s been through a lot, and that’s why he is like this.”
“Oh no, Aunty, I’m not upset. I understand. I was just curious if he’s always been this way.”
She smiled sadly and replied, “No, dear, he wasn’t like this at all. He used to be a cheerful and happy child, but that accident changed everything.”
“Accident?” I asked.
“Yes, he had a severe accident four years ago that left him paralyzed from the waist down,” she said, her voice heavy with sadness.
“That must have been hard for him,” I said, feeling her sorrow.
“Yes, it was very tough. That accident changed his life, and his girlfriend also left him because of it.”
“W-what?” I exclaimed, shocked.
“Yes, dear. That’s when he became cold and grumpy. He would lock himself in his room and stop talking to anyone. His parents were his last hope, but they also abandoned him instead of supporting him.” She paused and added, “So I hope you can understand him and not take his behavior personally.”
“No, Aunty, I told you I’m not upset. Trust me.”
She smiled and nodded. “Okay, I trust you. Now, let’s eat. It’s already past lunchtime.”
I smiled slightly and nodded, and we both had our meal together. Afterward, I returned to my room and lay on the bed, thinking about him and everything he had endured. Life had been unfair to him, and as his caregiver, I would do my best to make him feel cared for. I promised myself I wouldn’t leave, no matter how he treats me.
