This couldn't be happening. Why? Why? I thought we would be okay. This was all a dream, and any second, I'd wake up. I looked to Ross and saw his sad eyes well up with tears and a sob escaped my throat. I threw my arms around him and realized one thing. This was happening.
"Where?" I choked out as he pulled me up from the floor with a sniffle. "Atlanta." Then my world shattered. Completely.
"No." I cried and buried my face into his chest. His strong arms wrapped around me and I took in his scent. Was this the last time I'd ever get to hold him? Oh gosh, it couldn't be.
"What's going to happen to-" I couldn't finish the sentence, and as suddenly as it began, it stopped. We both knew there wasn't going to be an "us" anymore. We-We were done.
"So this is..." I trailed off and we stood in the silence, neither of us wanting to say goodbye.
We stood that way until we heard a knock on the door. "No." I gripped onto Ross' plaid shirt. "You can't go. Stay here." He latched onto me and buried his head into my hair.
The knock came and went longer this time. "No!" I shouted. "You can't take him." I cried out and sank into Ross in defeat.
"I don't want to go." Ross sounded rather scared, more than he was sad. "I don't want to be without you, Cat."
A tear slowly slipped down his cheek.
"Why can't they understand?" I asked. "Why?"
"NOW." A voice boomed through the door. "I'll come back for you Cat. I promise." He gripped me tightly.
"I'm going to come back for you." His voice cracked more with every word. "Please, believe me."
"I do. I really do." The door began to crack open. "No!" Ross cried as his father bursts through the door.
He grasped me harder as his father attempted to pull him from me. "Please." He cried out with no avail as he was yanked away from me.
"Ross!" I shouted and reached out for him as he was pulled away from me.
"I love you, Cat." He shouted reaching over his dads shoulder and grasping my hand one last time. "I love you so much, never forget that."
"Please-" I began.
"I'll come back for you." He shouted as the door slammed behind him.
I collapsed to the ground feeling miserable. I didn't even get to say 'I love you' back.

Ross P.O.V.
I laid my head against the window as the cars zoomed passed. Or maybe we were the ones zooming. Either way, I was getting further and further from the love of my life.
I swallowed hard as I thought about her. Her beautiful flowing chestnut hair with natural blonde streaks. Her small fit body. Her big beautiful smile, her bright eyes, her bubbly laugh. Everything about her just made me want to go crazy. She was my best. She was my whole.
I felt Ryland's soft hand on my shoulder, offering support. I felt bad for the poor girl, she assumed that this was her fault. It didn't help that as soon as I got in the car I screamed at her. What was happening with the world.
The 5 of us used to be best friends, now were separated in half. My parents-My dad, apparently, hates me I guess. I don't even know why I'm doing this. Why didn't I run with Cat while I had the chance?
The car slowed to a stop as we pulled into a parking space in the airport. I drew a broken heart on the window in the thick condensation.
I hate when it rains, especially now.
"What about all our stuff?" I asked in a monotone voice. A very whiny monotone voice. "It'll get shipped next week." My mother said in a cheerful tone. You can thank her for always being the optimist.
"What about my guitar?" I asked meekly. "Aha, Sunny Boy. Not all hope is lost. I brought it with us. It's in the back." My dad said brightly with his stupid attempts to cheer me up.
"What about the cars?"
"We'll buy new ones."
I kept asking even though I really didn't care. My dad opened his door to get out when I stopped him. "What about Cat?" I asked in a stronger voice. "What about me? Don't you care?"
My father paused momentarily and the rain soaked his one foot that was sticking out the door. Slowly, he turned around and looked at me with a sick smile one his face that made me swallow hard.
"Who's Cat?" He asked, his smile broadening by the second.
The silence filled the car.
