"And they tell you that you're lucky but you're so confused. Because you don't feel pretty, you just feel used.." I softly sang into the wind. My hair is loose and running down my back. I sit on the wooden swing hanging from the tree in Elaine's yard. My bare legs and feet stick out from underneath my dress. The sun is just setting, turning everything into a lovely peachy color.

"Caterina!" I hear a yell from within the house, a yell that came from Elaine. "Coming!" I shouted back and hopped off the swing. I ran barefooted through the grass and into the house. The creaky back door slammed shut behind me. "Auntie?" I called out to the silence.

"I'm in the basement!" She called. I walked into the kitchen and took the stairs down into the basement. Why was she in there? Looking for something, maybe. I shrugged and continued down the stairs.

"Will you get this box for me, sweetie? It's in the closet, it's way to high." I smiled at her and walked over to the closet. I opened it and walked in, "There are no-" The door slammed shut behind me and I walked over and jiggled the doorknob. "Auntie. This isn't funny." I said, rattling the knob more intently.

"Oh dear." I heard her mutter from the outside. "The dang door is jammed. I'll go get Ross. He's strong enough to unjam it." I here her trudge away and I walk to the back of the closet and sit down. "Great." I mumble. "Looks like I'm stuck for now." I close my eyes until I hear footsteps approaching, but I remain seated.

"Cat?" I hear Ross call from outside. "I'm gonna try and get you out. The door may slam open so stand back." I roll my eyes at him. "Alright."

I see the hear him leaning on the door, applying more and more pressure. The doorknob jiggles and Ross stumbled in, falling, and landing right on top of me. "Ross!" I laugh and he shakes his head. "It was unlocked." He said giving me a weird look. I look up to see Elaine reach for the door, and slam it shut. The darkness engulfs us as we stand up.

"Auntie." I say and try for the knob. Locked, of course.

"I'm so so sorry Caterina." I hear her southern accent through the door. "I can't harbor a criminal."

"Elaine." I say and start hitting the door.

"You can't be with Ross anymore."

"What? Why would you..." I trail off and reach for Ross' hand in the darkness.

"Why are you saying this?" I ask appalled.

"Look, I'm gonna be straight with you kid, I've been talking a Federal Agent..."

"A Fed?!" I scream and Ross wraps his arm around me.

"Yeah.." She trailed off.

"You sold us out?!" I shout and hit the door with one of my fists. Ross holds both of his arms around me to restrain me.

"No I didn't. Listen, you don't understand." She began but I didn't let her finish.

"No I understand plenty. TRAITOR!" I scream at her and kick the door. Ross holding my arms down obviously isn't helping.

"I'm not a traitor. Lis-"

"YOU'RE A RAT! And we don't need you. And we can make it on our own!" I wriggle my way out of Ross' tight grasp.

"But I'm trying to save your skin kid!" She tells empathetically.

"Put this door! Let us go!" I scream pounding on the door as Ross lets the whole ordeal go on.

"No! You listen to me. You know what's gonna happen when you get caught?! You're gonna be arrested for harboring a criminal."

"I don't care you're a liar!" I shout angrily and slam my body against the door.

"No you better care because if Ross gets arrested, you go down with the ship." She shouts and hits the door.

"GET US OUT OF HERE!" I scream, "WE'RE LEAVING."

"No you're not!"

Take us out of here, Elaine, right now!

"No. I'M DOING THIS FOR YOUR OWN GOOD." I here her dialing. Beep Beep Beep. The phone rings. I realize the three numbers she dialed all too late.

"Wait wait wait." I plead softly but the other line picks up. I hear a barely audible, "911. What's your emergency?"

"I have Ross Lynch." Is all Elaine says and then she starts rattling off information.

"No. No. No! No! NO NO NO PLEASE ELAINE. NOOOO. ELAINE STOP IT. STOP IT. NOO. "

"Okay ma'am stay on the line. We're sending help."

I realize we're doomed. There is no escape. I turn around and see Ross, tears streaming down his cheeks. He can't control his heavy breathing.

I put my hands up on his cheeks and he pulls my tightly against him, willingly crying into my hair.

"This is it, Cat. I'm going to jail." I shake my head. "Hey. Hey. It's okay. You aren't guilty of anything and we can show them that." I say compassionately. "It's gonna be okay."

I can here sirens from above. I'm assuming the police are here. Suddenly, I'm scared.

"Don't let me go." I whisper to Ross. "Please. Please, don't leave me." I frantically whisper and grab for him.

He holds me tightly. "You don't leave me and I don't leave you. Deal?" He whispers and I wipe the tears from his face. The door opened abruptly behind us and I shriek, startled.

I turn around and a man reaches in and grabs for me. "STOP!" I shout as I'm yanked out of the closet. Ross rushes out before he has time to be handcuffed. Immediately one officer is in front of him, attempting to keep him from me. I leap forward and grab his hand, holding on for dear love.

Not life.

Love.

An officer comes in front of me and picks me up so my chest is over his shoulder. I hold onto Ross until I'm too far from him. The officer carries me up the stairs. "ROSS!" I scream and I shove my way out of his grasp. The well built officer wraps his arms around my arms and carries my that way. I kick and kick the whole way out of the house, but it doesn't help. "ROSS!" I scream as the officer carries me through the house. "CAT!" I hear his muffled cry back. The officer has carried me out to the large front yard. There are about 6 squad vehicles and all too many spectators waiting outside. I struggle against him as he slowly attempts to carry me to the car at the very back of the line.

Ross emerges from the house in handcuffs and is being lead the the front car. I see blood running from his mouth; He must of gotten into a fight with the officer shoving him forward.

This enrages me.

Quite.

I take a deep breathe and remember all the self-defense moves Drake taught me, before I make my attack.

I throw my head back with as much power as I can, slamming into the nose of the officer holding me. I hear a satisfying crunch, and he lets me go.

Another officer to my right rushes forward. I take my fist into one of my hands and jab her as hard as I freaking can in the solar plexus, and then shove her over. The officer to my left gets kicked behind their back leg, and gets a punch in the neck. I run to and grab him tightly. "Ross." I sob into him. The relief of touching him again is sweet, but temporary. I am pulled back by another officer and a sedative is injected into my neck. Ross' eyes grow wide as I see him fighting against his restraints. He gets pushed into the car and tears fill my eyes.

It's all blurry until all I see is black.

I'm sorry Ross. I let go. I left you.

I guess I know what this means:

No deal.
