You used to fly. We used to fly together. There was freedom in the skies. More freedom than on the ground. Life was perfect. Our wings would take us wherever we wanted to go without hesitation or falter. We would soar high above the clouds and laugh all the way down to the trees. But you liked to play around by the trees and the rocks. I followed but only to watch. You liked to pull dangerous tricks and stupid stunts. I had warned you that you were playing with fire. You just brushed me off and kept doing what you wanted to do. That's when you hit the tree. It wasn't like a thud that you get when someone falls, it was a sickening crack. Now it's just me in the sky while you're on the ground watching me, and wishing to get back your freedom.
