Everyone was busy chattering, unaware of the storm brewing within Aishwarya.
She let a soft, affectionate smile grace her lips as she gazed at Anu with adoration that ran far deeper than anyone in the room could understand.
Her eyes locked onto his, searching for a flicker of acknowledgment, a hint that he saw her the way she saw him. But Anu simply gave her a lopsided grin, his usual charm at play.
It wasn't enough. She needed more.
Her grip on her bracelet tightened as she took another step forward, lowering her voice just enough for only him to hear.
Aishwarya (whispering, possessively): "I knew you were special... but now, the world will know too. Just remember, Anu... no one will ever understand you like I do."
She brushed her fingers lightly against his arm—a fleeting touch, but one filled with silent promise.
Anu chuckled lightly, unaware of the storm brewing behind her affectionate gaze.
Anu (playfully): "Arre Aish, tu bhi na... abhi se fan mode on kar diya?"
He laughed, but she wasn't joking.
Unknown to them, someone had noticed this exchange.
Arjun and Arohi.
Arjun, who had been casually leaning against the wall, arms crossed, narrowed his eyes. He had been watching everyone, taking in the atmosphere, but something about Aishwarya's gaze, her subtle movements, the way she lingered just a little too close to Anu— it didn't sit right with him.
He had known her for years. She was charming, sweet, and fiercely loyal. But this? This was different. There was something unsettling in her eyes—a hunger, a silent claim.
Arohi, standing beside him, felt it too.
Her usually bright eyes darkened with unease as she observed the way Aishwarya's fingers had barely, but deliberately, brushed against Anu's wrist. The way her voice softened, dripping with something more than just admiration.
She had felt it before—the shift in Aishwarya's behaviour whenever Anu was involved. But today, it was clearer than ever. This wasn't just admiration. This was possession.
Arohi exchanged a look with Arjun, who exhaled sharply, his jaw tightening.
Arohi (whispering, eyes still fixed on Aishwarya): "Did you see that?"
Arjun (low voice, serious): "I did. And I don't like it."
Arohi bit her lip, concern swirling in her chest.
Arohi: "She's getting worse, Arjun. It's not just protective anymore... it's something else."
Arjun didn't reply immediately. Instead, his gaze flickered toward Anu, who was still laughing, completely oblivious to the storm brewing beside him.
Arjun (muttering): "He doesn't see it. But we do."
Arohi sighed, a pit forming in her stomach.
Arohi: "We need to keep an eye on her."
