Anu heard the sound—the distinct, brutal crack of the gun—and saw the muzzle flash aimed directly at his brother. Without a single conscious thought, driven by a raw, desperate instinct, he lunged. He threw himself and Arjun into a tight, frantic embrace, a shield of flesh and bone.

The bullet struck.

Everyone froze. A collective gasp of horror ripped through the air.

"ANU!" The scream tore from the throats of Shivansh, Kabir, and Kushal.

Arjun's breath hitched, his hands trembling against his brother's back. Had Anu truly intercepted the bullet meant for him? He instantly pulled back, his eyes frantically searching for a wound.

"Anu...?" he whispered, his voice shaking.

But Anu felt nothing. No sting, no wet warmth of blood.

Anu looked over his shoulder, releasing his brother, and what he saw horrified him to his core.

She was there. Kasturi.

She stood between the bullet and him, her body convulsing slightly. She had taken the hit, a sacrifice made in a fraction of a second. The round, meant for Anu, had found its home in her chest.

The surrounding officers snapped into action, immediately wrestling the gun from Devraj's hand. But the damage was done.

Anu didn't waste a second. He lunged toward Kasturi, catching her before she could collapse. The bullet had struck her in the center of her chest. Everyone rushed forward, converging on the tragic scene.

"Wh... why... you did this?" Anu's voice was a ragged whisper, stained with disbelief.

Kasturi looked at him, her eyes filled with unbearable pain. A single tear escaped and traced a path down her cheek.

A tear slipped from Anu's own eye. "Why did you do this? You shouldn't have done this."

Kasturi raised a hand, now stained dark with her own blood, and managed a faint, heartbreaking smile. "I couldn't let anything happen to you, Frog Prince."

At that moment, a chilling, triumphant cackle pierced the air.

"Hah! Well, at least this girl is dead! She deserves it. This is the fate of anyone who dreams of destroying me! Look, Singhanias! I win, and you can't touch me! The way I killed your parents, I've killed her too, right in front of your eyes! Haaahh... haaahh..."

Anu's head snapped toward the sound. His eyes, burning with a rage so potent it turned them red, locked onto Devraj. "You b*****d!" he roared.

He drew his own gun and fired.
