First of all, I want to say sorry for the delay in updating 🙏. I was logged out of Wattpad unexpectedly and due to some technical issues, I wasn't able to log back in for a while. That's why this chapter came later than planned.

Thank you so much for being patient and waiting for me 🌸. Your support and love mean the world, and I promise I'll try my best to avoid such gaps in the future.

Hope you enjoy the update, and as always, I'd love to hear your thoughts and feedback in the comments 🥰

In apartment at night time

Kasturi and Anurag sat with their heads bowed low, like two children caught red-handed stealing chocolates. The silence in the room was suffocating, broken only by the ticking of the clock on the wall. In front of them stood Kushal, his glare sharp enough to cut through steel.

From the fire in his eyes, both of them could feel it—he was furious. His jaw was clenched, his fists curled, as if he was just one breath away from exploding.

Kasturi's fingers fidgeted nervously in her lap, while Anurag's shoulders stiffened, a bead of sweat rolling down his temple. Both were trembling ever so slightly, hearts pounding at the thought of what was coming next.

In that moment, they knew—by the end of this meeting, they were going to be dead meat.

Kushal's voice was calm, almost too calm, the kind of calm that carried a storm hidden beneath it.
"Do you have any explanation for your reckless actions?"

Anurag and Kasturi sat frozen, their heads lowered, eyes fixed on the floor. Their breaths were shallow, hands clenched together in their laps. Not once did they dare to lift their gaze to meet his.

Kushal's lips twisted in a bitter smile as he leaned back, still speaking with the same unsettling composure.
"Ohh... ab billi ne tumhari zubaan kaat li kya?"

The silence stretched, suffocating, until finally his patience snapped. His calm tone sharpened into fury, his words striking like whiplash.

"So, you both are not going to speak anything? Fine. Then let me remind you of your so-called bravery—no, your reckless stupidity." His eyes burned as he stepped closer, voice rising.
"Tum dono ne apne aapko bohot samajhdaar samjha na? Morons! You went ahead and burned down Devraj's godown. Am I speaking right?"

The air turned heavy. The calm mask had fallen; now his anger was palpable, crackling like fire ready to consume everything.

Both stood like statues in their place.

Kushal snapped – "SPEAK SOMETHING, IDIOTS! WHEN YOU CAN'T TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY FOR YOUR ACTIONS, YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO DO THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE."

This time Anu gathered some courage and spoke – "Sir, it's all my fault. Kasturi ne mana kiya tha but I was adamant about it. I want to—"

Kushal cut him off – "REVENGE!! Do you want to take revenge against that monster??"

Anurag shook his head – "I want to protect my family, sir."

Kushal – "And you are doing it like this? Without any planning or backup, you went into the war... and congratulations, because now there is no choice of backing away from it."

Before Anurag could answer, Kasturi spoke up like the queen she was – "Even we are not ready to back down this time."

Kushal narrowed his eyes – "Don't you think you are talking too much?"

Kasturi – "Kabhi na kabhi usko barbaad karna hi tha, shuruwaat humne kal se hi ki. What's wrong in that, sir?"

Kushal scrunched his nose. These two would surely be the reason if someday he ended up with a heart attack.
