Today, Y/n woke up early and excited. For it was her birthday.

She was really excited for this special day because she would be celebrating it with her good friends, the Shepherds. She was determined to make this lots of fun for herself because it would be the first birthday she would remember, since she had no memory of her past.

As soon as she untangled herself from her blanket, she changed into her everyday clothing and happily walked out of her tent.

As she skipped towards the mess hall, she noticed that none of the Shepherds were doing their morning routines. That  meant no would be able to wish her a 'happy birthday.' The hop in her step that she once carried was gone.

Once Y/n reached her destination, she wondered if the Shepherds were all in the mess hall. Her mood lifted immediately at the thought of this.

She ran into the mess hall and saw the rows of tables and benches meant for the Shepherds as they ate their meals. Unfortunately, no one was sitting on the benches, eating food, talking loudly, having small food fights or laughing at any jokes. Y/n was surprised Stahl wasn't stuffing his face with all the food available for breakfast.

Y/n sadly sat down at one of the many vacant tables available. She reached for some of the f/f and took a bite. She stared at nothing in particular thinking about where everyone could've gone.

After she finished her food, a few minutes later, Y/n decided to go back to her tent and make more strategies for the upcoming battles. She did carry the lives of the Shepherds in her hands anyway so she couldn't risk losing any of them. She'd grown close to all of them. Losing them would be like losing family. The Shepherds were her family.

A tear fell from her e/c eye.  The thought that the Shepherds had forgotten it was Y/n's birthday was upsetting. But she had to move on. It was only a birthday. Right?

Y/n was so lost in thought that she bumped into a wooden pole sticking out from the ground. I swear that wasn't there yesterday. Y/n thought as she rubbed the bump forming on her head.

Y/n soon forgot about the bump on her forehead and walked into her tactician's tent. She walked up to the desk on the other side of her tent. On it were many books on strategies for battle. Most of the books were stacked up neatly on the edge of the desk, waiting to fall at any moment. Only one book was left on the desk, open and currently being read by the Shepherds's master tactician.

Y/n sat down on her chair, in front of the desk, and scooted in. She then started reading, learning new things all the while.

All of Y/n's attention was on the book before her. Therefore, she couldn't hear the man sneaking up behind her.

"BOO!" A voice yelled behind Y/n. Her scream rang throughout the tent as she reacted to the sudden sound. Y/n fell out of her chair and bumped the desk with her elbow. The wobbly stack of books came crashing down onto Y/n afterwards, burying her.

Y/n knew who the cause of this was and she was getting quite mad at him. "INIGO! What in Naga's name had gotten into you!!" She screamed at the man who was in front of her, dying of laughter.

"I'm so sorry Y/n! My plan was to scare you. Not bury you in your books. I swear to gods!" Inigo said once his laughter died down. He reached out his hand and Y/n gladly took it to get her out of the mess.

Y/n brushed herself off once she was standing again and turned to Inigo. "Fine. This time I'll believe you but don't think you're alway gonna be off the hook." Y/n said, pointing her finger at his chest.

"Fine. Fine. Whatever pleases my girl." Inigo answered, rolling his eyes. Y/n blushed and almost immediately started yelling at Inigo once more.

"AND I'M NOT YOUR GIRL SO STOP CALLING ME THAT AND HELP ME CLEAN UP!" Inigo pouted but stopped when he had no reaction from Y/n. He sighed and started to pick up the tactician's many books.
