~Diana's POV~

I entered the main entrance room of the apartment building, searching my purse for the key that I hadn't attached to my lanyard yet. I had just gotten a hold of it when the door behind me opened.

"Could you get the door for me?" a breathless voice asked. I looked over my shoulder to see arms and legs sprouting from a gigantic box; those arms struggling to keep it in their grasp.

"Oh! Sure!" I squeaked, hurrying on and getting the door open. I held it as the girl waddled by, her black hair swaying around her back. I rushed forward and caught the other side of it just as it started to slip.

"Thank you!" the girl huffed, blowing her hair out of her face. I tried to nod to her, but she couldn't see me through the box.

"You're welcome." I replied, my voice strained by the pathetic effort I was giving to carrying this box sideways up a flight of stairs. I really needed to get back into working out. But... ew.

"Don't worry. I only live on the second floor." the girl chuckled.

"That is great news." I cried with a short laugh. We finally got to the second floor and shuffled down the hallway together. She stopped in front of my apartment until I realized she lived across the hall. We put the box down, groaning in anguish.

"I'm too old for this crap." I laughed windedly.

"You can't be much older than myself." she said accusingly out of playfulness.

"Darn. I was hoping I could play that off. I didn't want to admit I don't work out." I sighed. The girl giggled at my pathetic joke, and I grinned. She unlocked her apartment and I helped lug the box in to join the mountain of other boxes and half put together furniture. It looked like my apartment, only with better looking furniture.

"Thank you, again!" the young woman exclaimed.

"No problemo, neighbor." I chirped. I gave her a weak salute before strolling across the hall to my own apartment. I slipped inside, and collapsed against the undressed mattress in the middle of my living room.

I pulled out my vlogging camera, and started recording.

"Hello, my children! Welcome to my new apartment! It's a much better place than right above that restaurant place, right?" I asked the camera. I smiled as I pushed myself to my feet. I did a horrible tour guide impression as I went through the rooms of my apartment. I showed them the huge living room that is also the main area of the house when you walk in. To the right was a cute kitchen, complete was a kitchen island. To the left was a door that lead to the first bathroom. To the left and right of my living room were two doors, both bedrooms. One bedroom, the one on the right, had its own bathroom as well. I was one person, and I liked smaller spaces. I didn't need anymore space than this.

"I hope you enjoyed this little tour thing. Now you can all write accurate fanfiction! I expect nothing but accuracy in my fanfictions, ya hear me? Nah, I'm just kidding. You write whatever the hell you want. It's your creativity. Welp, that's all I have for today! Goodbye, my children!" I sang into the camera. I turned it off after that, and placed it down on a box. I'd get around to uploading, but for now, sleep was my main priority. I had a long day tomorrow.

First I had to unpack, then go to Mark's to just hang out with my brother, then lastly at 8 there was a small party at one of my best bud's, Tyler Oakley's, house to welcome me into L.A. Several other YouTubers were attending too, and we planned on getting tipsy and just partying like stupid young adults do.  We'll probably shoot a couple of drunken videos while we're at it.

I didn't bother moving the mattress from the living room when I fell asleep. It was crawling around to be 8 at night. I usually stay up much later, but I was exhausted from moving boxes and just in general.

BEEPBEEPBEEP..BEEPBEEPBEEP...BEEPBEEPBEEP...

The all too familiar shrilling screech of the fire alarm woke me from a very deep and COMFORTABLE sleep. I groaned as I rolled off the mattress, grabbing my Supernatural plush blanket and phone with me. I remembered to grab my house key, and then I was rushing down the stairs with all the other people who were woken up 3 am in the F R E A K I N G  M O R N I N G!

I angrily seethed with rage in the courtyard in front of the apartment building. It was L.A., so I wasn't cold, but I gladly hugged my blanket closer to me. I had fallen asleep in only some boxer shorts and a sports bra since it had been so hot in my apartment. I felt exposed, and I could see a lot of shady men around here with me.

I spotted the girl I helped earlier with the box. She was awkwardly hugging herself, trying to conceal her short shorts and a Cami-clad body. She was pretty; curvy with long black hair that fell around to her elbows that she had rolled up into a messy bun. She was pale as paper, and had light freckles dusting over her face. Earlier today her bright blue eyes hadn't been covered with glasses, but now she was wearing black framed ones. She also was sporting some rocking piercings and tattoos.

Not being able to ignore the disgustingly predatory glances she was getting from the wanna-be-thugs a couple feet away, I shuffled over to her. I gave her a small smile, and she returned it. I threw part of my blanket around her, and we huddled together to keep safe from anyone's vision.

"Thank you." she said quietly.

"No problemo, neighbor. I couldn't watch a fellow lady friend be looked at like meat and not step in. It would break the honor code." I teased. She grinned at that, and I think that meant she returned the sentiment.

"My name's Annabell Drake." she informed.

"I'm Diana Fischbach." I replied. She gave another smile, and I found myself grinning in return. Maybe L.A. wouldn't be as horrible as I imagined.
