~Diana's POV~
"Who's she?" Mark asked groggily upon seeing Annabell.
"My new neighbor. We were locked out our apartment because of someone pulling the fire alarm, and we need somewhere to sleep. I was hoping you wouldn't mind?" I mumbled. I rocked back and forth on my feet, smiling up at my big brother.
"Yeah, I don't mind. Come on in." he chirped, stepping aside and holding the door open. I showed Annabell inside, noticing how red her cheeks were. I draped my blanket over her shoulders, and gave my brother a big hug. I had missed him a lot when he left for L.A., and I needed to make up for it with hugs.
"Thanks for doing this, Mark." I hummed as he held me.
"No problem." he replied quietly, patting the top of my head. I tried to get away from his clutches in a desperate attempt to save my hair. I turned to Annabell, who was awkwardly standing by the front door, playing with the doorknob.
"Oh!" I cried. "Mark, this is Annabell. Annabell, this is Mark." I introduced. Annabell waved awkwardly, giving a tight smile. Mark nodded in return, mumbling a brief "hi". I rolled my eyes. Such dorks.
"Sleeping arrangement options?" Annabell inquired queitly.
"Uh, you two take my bed while I take the couch?" Mark suggested. I shrugged, looking at Annabell.
"C-Can I have the couch? I-I'd rather not sleep with a random stranger." she confessed.
"That's understandable." I chirped, smiling.
"I'll grab some blankets and pillows." Mark said as he disappeared down a hallway. I escorted Annabell to the couch as Mark returned, and started throwing blankets at me. I handed them to Annabell so she could adjust how she wanted.
"Thank you, guys. I don't know what I would have done." she murmured.
"No problemo, Annabell."
"Anna, please." she corrected politley.
"Alright, Anna. You sleep tight. If you need a bathroom, it's right over there." I pointed down the hall to the closest door. She nodded, smiling smally at me. I smiled right back.
"Just scream if you need something." I told her. She giggled.
Mark waved her a goodnight and we wandered into his room. I jumped on his bed, starfishing over it so he would have no room whatsoever. He just groaned and pushed me out of the way just enough so he could lay down.
I snuggled under the covers, calmed by the scent of my big brother everywhere. It had been years since we'd shared a bed. I guess he'd soon discovered I'm still a huge bed hogger.
"Your friend is nice." Mark mumbled, his voice muffled by his pillow. I spun around so I could face him. He was already on the fast track to Sleepy Land.
"Do you think she's cute?" I teased.
"I mean, yeah, but I've known her for, like, five minutes. If that, even." he said.
"Soooooooooo? You can still think she's cute."
"She's very cute. I like her eyes."
"I think she thinks you're cute too. She blushed when she saw you."
"I think that's 'cause I was a random stranger and she wasn't wearing a whole lot of clothes."
"I don't care! Everyone who sees you thinks you're cute!" I reached out and placed my hand over his face. Unfortunatley, I have tiny hands so it didn't encompass his entire face. Just enough to be bothersome.
