NINE DAYS LATER.
Aegon was King. He was King of Westeros. He was King of the people, the people whom supported him anyways.
In the first few nights, Alana had barely slept, she had been worried that Rhaenyra would retaliate against Aegon and send an assassin after him and kill him in his sleep. But nothing happend and she quickly forgot about her worries, especially with a new babe, Aerion.
In the nine days since Aemond and his dragon had killed Rhaenyra's son Lucerys, since then barely anyone had seen Aemond, he mostly was out keeping an eye out for dragons in the day time but in the night from what Alana had heard from Helaena in he was in Flea Bottom doing Gods know what.
Aegon had also changed since being King, during the day he would usually be at small council meetings or in the throne room or with his children, but during the night he had became more clinger than usual, maybe scared to lose Alana in a way.
And meanwhile, the hand of the King Otto Hightower had once thought that since Alana is Cregan Stark only actual family besides Cregan's son, Otto assumed that Lord Stark would bend the knee to Aegon, but to no avail, he had done no such thing. He pledged to Rhaenyra.
It felt like a betrayal to Alana, like a stab in her heart that her only brother, that he had pledged to serve Rhaenyra, and not his own sister. Alana knew that he had chosen duty over family.
Though Alana had tried to hide her sadness, the pain in her eyes had never left, the betrayal of her brother stinging even more.
Aegon knew that Alana was sad, but had chosen not to comment on it since he was busy during the day.
Everyone was asleep in the castle, Aegon had awoken and found Alana standing on the balcony looking at the long stretched ocean. He stared at Alana for a few seconds before slowly walking forward and standing next to her.
"Can't sleep?" He asked, his voice was gentle in comparison of his voice during the day in the throne room.
Alana didn't reply at first, she could slightly smell the scent of wine on his breath from the day. She knew that wine was a very big habit of his before he met her, but she had also noticed that when he was nervous about something he would drink wine as if it was his last day.
"You were drinking again." Alana said quietly, as if people were listening to their conversation.
Aegon nodded with a sigh, "I did." He said, before looking out towards the ocean. "Only a little though, you know I've been so stressed with being King."
Alana nodded, thinking of what Alicent had told her earlier, that Aegon hadn't been being King seriously, that he makes jokes about serious topics, but she chose not to talk about it.
"What about you?" Aegon looked back at her, pushing a strand of hair behind her ear. "I can tell something is off."
Alana hesitated, "I-It's a bit foolish." She shook her head, thinking it was stupid, but then again Aegon was her husband, and has been for several years, she didn't know why it was hard to talk about her brother. "It is about Cregan, how he pledged to Rhaenyra."
"Come here." Aegon mumbled, pulling her into a side hug, resting his chin on her head.
Alana didn't say anything else, looking at the ocean as she hugged Aegon. She knew why Cregan did it, Starks will always loyal to their oaths, like how her father was when Viserys declared Rhaenyra as his heir, and now Cregan was honoring that. And Alana, whom had said her vows to Aegon, and would honor those vows. She loved Aegon and her children and she could never abandon them.
Aegon sighed, kissing the top of her forehead.

After a while of them staying in silence, they had eventually moved to their large bed. It was nice chambers compared to their old one, more space, Alana liked it, especially with the ocean view. She just didn't like that Viserys very large Carving of Old Valyria was in the middle of the room.
Ever since that night of Baelon hearing those yells coming from the small council room, Baelon had almost every night snuck into Aegon and Alana's new chambers. So Alana wasn't surprised when she heard the door creak open and close.
"Mummy..." Baelon said in the darkness, before running towards the large bed, Alana helping him up.
"Why are you awake?" Aegon said, leaning back into the pillows, watching as Baelon laid between them both.
Baelon didn't say anything, but laid his head on Alana's chest and closing his eyes.
Alana smiled in return, running a hand through her child's silver waves of hair.
"Always clinging to you." Aegon said, yawning in the dark room, only the light from the moon shining in.
"Reminds me someone." Alana teased, looking at Aegon who looked on the verge of sleep.
"Hush." Aegon shook his head, closing his eyes. "It has been to long of a day." The exhaustion of his voice was very clear to hear.
Alana shook her head, smiling before sinking into the pillow. Baelon fast asleep on her chest, little snores coming out of him. The warmth of Baelon and Aegon making her fall asleep fast.
She drifted off into a deep sleep, her worries of her brother gone, and the worries of everything gone. Even if it was for a few hours...
