Going back to Forks, Alison and Jasper were ready to get Nicole home and in bed. Their vacation was the best, but Jasper needed to talk to Carlisle. He has been doing a lot of thinking. Yes, he wants to marry Alison, but she is starting to stress and it has him worried.
Looking in the mirror, he saw his fiancée and daughter sound asleep. Jasper smiled as he was going to make sure his family was protected. "Jasper, you're thinking. You've been doing that for awhile..."
"I don't want you to be involved in whatever Victoria has planned." He tells her. "I know you want to help Bella, but someone has to watch Nicole..."
"What about you?"
"Once we figure out what Victoria is up too, then I will figure out."
Alison leaned forward and took his hand. "Let's do this side by side."
Jasper smiled. "Side by side."
