Is This Our Last Embrace?

Chapter Nine

*Dom's POV*

Matt burst into the room happily. "KATE IS PREGNANT!!" He shouted at the top of his lungs. Chris ran over to congratulate him. "Wow thats great news!" Chris smiled and hugged Matt. They both looked over at me. Chris gave me the "say something" look.

"Congrats!" I said, trying my hardest not to sound sarcastic. Matts smile faded and then he looked at Chris. "Dom you need to get over this!" Matt sighed ; He looked back over at me. "Kate and I are happy together and you need to face the truth!"

My heart felt like stopping. My brain wanted to give in. But i refused. I was upset, yes I definitely was, but Matt couldn't stop me from felling what i felt.

Chris sighed then picked his bass up. "I wrote a couple of songs..." He said quietly and Matts eyes lit up. He rushed over to Chris without taking a glance at me. I looked at Chris who smiled at me weakly. "Lets hear them then!" Matt took a seat next to Chris as he began to play his bass and sing quietly.

At the end of them we were all speechless. Matt patted Chris' shoulder "They are amazing... Do you mind if we put them on the album?" Matt asked. Chris shook his head and Matt cheered slightly.

We recorded them a couple of days later. Matt played his guitar solo happily whilst prancing around. I tried not to laugh as he did so. Chris put his bass down before giving us a high five. "Dom. We need to talk!" Chris said to me then looked at Matt. Matt sighed and left the room.

"Try and be happy please!" He said as he grabbed me by the shoulders. I could see Matt looking in at us.

"Why?" I sighed.
"Because Matt has moved on and you need to as well..."
"Chris, I have tried so many times!"
"I know but please try harder!"
"ICANT!" I shouted as my body filled with anger and hate. I threw my drumsticks at the wall and ran out of the room. Matt grabbed my hand before i could go any further. "Get off me!" I frowned.
"No!" Matt hugged me then kissed my forehead. I felt myself crying in to his shoulder. "Calm down..." Matt whispered and played with my hair. I hugged him back then pulled away suddenly.

"What about Ka-"
"Shh no..." Matt shook his head and pouted ever so slightly. His fingers drew invisible circles on my back as we hugged. "What she doesn't know won't kill her..."

I laughed quietly and let the laughter get muffled in Matts shoulder. I felt him breathing deeply on mine. Chris walked in and tapped Matts shoulder. "Whats going on?" He asked. Matt shrugged his shoulder before hugging me again. Everything felt like it was back to normal. This wasn't how it was going to end though.
