In science there is chemistry

It had been a week. A full week avoiding the person the moon goddess had matched for me. I was craving his presence while hating it at the same time. But today was the day I could avoid him no longer, we had chemistry. No not like that, well yeah a little I guess, but I mean real chemistry like in science. I sat down in my seat and looked around the room. He wasn't here yet so I waited trying to figure out what I could do when he arrived to make it less awkward. I was thinking too hard as I didn't even notice him sit down until he snapped his fingers in front of me. I shook my head and blinked a few times. "Sorry. Um, hi." I said trying to avoid his eyes. "I did some of the assignment at home." He stated. "What?" I asked "I said-" "I know what you said. But why? You never do any work." He was trying to think of what to say. "I uh, wanted to make it easier for you." I smiled it made my heart flutter knowing that he was doing something for me. "Thank you." I said smiling at his looking at him in his eyes. He was staring into mine while I starred into his. For a moment it was just us looking at each other before our Science teacher came in"Get to work students this is dew next week."

With that we broke away to look at the teacher. He gave everyone a shock. When it hit everyone what he said we all looked down at our work. I went to grab the paper the same time Grayson did. His fingers lightly touched the top of my hand but that was enough to send another jolt threw my arm. "Can I talk to you after school?" He asked. I knew what it was going to be about. It was going to be about us being mates. I think he was going to reject me. As much as I hated him I don't want him to reject me. "Oh ah-ah yeah sure." I said trying to plaster a sad smile on my face but on the inside I was about to break down knowing the person who is meant to love me for eternity is going to reject me.

****Fast forward to after school cause there is nothing else to say lol***

I was waiting outside for Grayson to arrive. Every time someone came through those double doors I would turn to look and see if it was him. I swear 30 people past before I finally saw him walk through the double doors. "H-hi." I said trying to cover my stutter. I was freaking out. "Lucy you know what this is about right?" I slowly nodded trying to avoid the tears I could feel welling in my eyes. "Lucy what's wrong?" "Your going to reject me." I stated. His eyes widened. "No! No no no I wanted to talk about us to try and make this work." He said with a soft smile. "But all you want from anyone is..." I trailed off at the end. "Your just going to leave me after you get what you want." "LUCY!" He yelled I could see the anger in his eyes. I was frightened and backed away a little. "Lucy your my mate. Your the only girl in the world that matters to me anymore." He said "I'm scared." "Of what. Me?" He asked. I nodded slowly. "I don't want to get hurt." "I promise on my life that I won't hurt you. Ever." He responded grabbing me by the shoulders and pulling me into his chest.

His touch. His smell everything about him just made me trust him. We stood there for a few minutes in each others embrace before we pulled away. "Okay. I trust you." He had a bright smile on his face. "Do you want to like hang out." "Like when?" "Like now." He said with a grin on his face. We started to walk in the direction of his pack lands before I stopped him. "Wait. How will I get in they are going to stop me." "Not with me they aren't." I nodded as we continued walking out of the school hand in hand. I could hear the whispers around us as we left together. But to be honest I didn't care.

We were entering his pack land when a pack guard stopped me and pulled me away from him. "You must leave you are not permitted on these lands." The guards grip tightened around my wrists almost making me squeak. "Jared chill she is with me." "I'm sorry but alpha's orders no one comes through." I looked at him desperately as the grip on my wrists was hurting a lot. "She's" He looked at me for permission and I nodded. "She is my mate." He continued. In a flash the Jared's hands were off me. "I'm so sorry." He said looking at me with a guilty face. I smiled "It's fine." He thanked me before walking back to his post. "You know this means my whole pack is going to know pretty much by tomorrow now don't you?" He asked. "Yeah. They were going to find out anyway.

I had never been in there land before and let me say, it was beautiful. Trees with flowers around them and training grounds at every corner. There land was huge I wouldn't even have to leave to go on a run. As we entered the pack house a women looking about 30 walked in. "Grayson where have you been you were meant to be here 10 minutes ago!" She said not yelling but just a bit agitated. "And is this another girl?!" The word another made me kind of sad before Grayson butted in on my thoughts. "No." He said sternly. "This is my mate Lucy." His mother I assumed didn't even bother saying anything but ran at me and tackled me into a bear hug. "Welcome to the family! I bet you are the perfect little lady for my boy!" I smiled even though I was finding this rather awkward.

After meeting his mum we headed to his room. "Your mum is nice." I said with a smile on my face. I was being truthful she was super welcoming and seemed like a lovely person. "Yeah she is." He said with a big smile on his face, happy that I liked his family. We chatted for a little while before it was time for me to head home. We said our goodbyes and I left to go back to my pack.
