Little filler chapter please read A/N at the end
It has been a week and nothing has really happened around the house. I have told Greyson that we should maybe lessen the patrols but he won't listen. I had become more accepting of what has happened and can proudly say I no longer ball my eyes out every morning and every night as the realisation dawns on me that my parents are no longer alive.
It was cold today. One of the coldest days this year in fact. No one wanted to leave the pack house. Someone even came up with the genius idea to finally use the theatre room and have a screening of a movie of the pack to all go and watch together. But Greyson was using today as a day for me and him. He could see how lonely I was getting as he stressed out over the protection of our land and decided a day like today would be a great day to just chill.
"I made you some lasagna. I know how much you like it." Said Greyson from the door to our room. My head snapped up and turned to him in a flash. "Gimme gimme." I whispered as I slithered over to him and grabbing the shiny white plate that held my favourite slab of goodness on it. I took a bite and moaned at the taste. Lasagna. Is. The. Best. I thought to myself. "You can eat that while we pick something on Netflix." I nodded and spilled out a very mumbled thank you with lasagna in my mouth. He chuckled before grabbing the remote to the television and plonking himself next to me on the bed. "I feel like a comedy." I said. Such a horrible day needs something to brighten it up. "Sure. Like stand up or movie comedy?" He asked. I pondered his question for a second trying to pick. "I feel like some standup." Standup is just straight up jokes which is really what I felt like.
He scrolls through to the stand up comedy section. "Tell me when to stop on one." He says as he starts scrolling through all the comedians on Netflix. "Stop." I say before chocking on some lasagna. "I told you to slow down on the lasagna." He said with a smirk on his face. I throw a glare in his direction and elbow him in the ribs but he doesn't even flinch. "Dam you and your good bod." His eyebrows raise at my statement. "Did you just say bod?" He asked trying to hold in his laugh. "Yes. Yes I did." I state proudly before turning back to the tv. "Now play Bo Burnham." I say staring at the comedian on the screen. (Bo Burnham is an actual comedian on Netflix if you want to watch. He is one of my faves (: ok back to the story)
He presses play and we cuddle together as the comedian starts firing our joke after joke. This is nice. I thought to myself. It may not be like this for long so I'm gong to soak this comfort up big time. For a little while it felt like everything was fine and nothing was wrong within our lives. I just wish it could always be like this.
Okay so exams have ended and I will definitely have more time to actually keep writing this book now. Thank you for all the support I have gotten from everyone the last few weeks. So many votes and reads and people have even been adding my book to their lists.
