Perhaps the most bizarre of events of Jihoon's life was the Shinhwa in North Korea. He much like millions of other Koreans knows the tense politics between the two Korea.

Separated by Cold War Politics, the Communist North and Democratic South have lived on edge. The South Korean government mandated that every able bodied male would enlist in case the North tried to invade. Because of that every one is trained, prepared for anything.

Occasionally the North would try to intimidate Korea by swimming too close to their waters or threaten nuclear war. This concert was meant to he a Unification ceremony as talks about normalization was in the air. Shinhwa along with Baby Vox and Fnkl went to Pyongyang to show the North the power of Kpop music.

The audience who watched were left stunned and confused at how radically different their music was. They clearly never heard anything like it before. South Korean media was banned and would be punishable by death if caught. As such virtually all North Koreans listen to only propaganda music praising the Kim family. They simply didn't know how to react, many too afraid for their lives to react.

The idol groups stayed under extreme supervision. They were told not to say anything or do anything to offend the regime. Many of them chose to save the energy for the big show. It was the strangest experience and they were glad to leave the hellhole afterwards.
