Lately, my life felt like a rollercoaster. Anything could happen anytime. No warning, no signs. Just boom-surprise. Right now, I was heading to the mall with Ivan and my aunt. Dad and uncle were busy with other wedding preparations because, of course, it was my brother's wedding next month. Finally, my stupid brother was getting married.
Once we entered the mall, my aunt wandered off with her daughter and Louisa to another section, probably to hunt down dresses, jewellery or whatever . Ivan, on the other hand had his phone glued to his ear, talking to Anya.
Anya was on her way, Ivan offered to pick her up but Anya refused-because my bestie is just too kind. Like she wouldn't even take effort for my old brother to act a little gentlemanly.
"How long is she gonna take? What did she say?" I asked, watching Ivan's face.
"She'll be here in the next ten minutes. You stay here. I'll go and pick her up," he said, already dialing someone else's number before I could say a word.
"Where are you, brat?!" Ivan shouted into the phone. I blinked. Who the hell was he yelling at now? Then I heard the voice that made me want to scream.
"Surprise!"
No. No. NO.
"I-V-A-N-N-N!" I screamed, turning around, my eyes wide in horror and there he was. The devil in human form. Fucking Park Jimin. I practically launched myself at Ivan, grabbing his neck-not easy, considering I had to stand on my toes just to reach him.
"Why the hell did you bring this man here?" I snapped, glaring at Jimin like he was a bug on my cupcake. Ivan slipped out of my grip with zero effort, like he had trained for this. Then he crossed my arms with such a ease and leaned in a little toward me.
"Because I know you'll stick to my wife the whole time," he whispered, like it was some great secret. "And we're here to shop for my wedding, buttercup. I need some private time with her, okay?"
I just stared, mouth slightly open. "But I also can't leave you alone here," he continued, with that annoying older-brother logic. "So I told him to come because he agreed. Besides... I trust him."
He patted my head-yes, patted-and said, "Now shut up and go."
And then he ran. Literally ran away like he was escaping a crime scene. "I'll kill him," I muttered. "Didn't even listen to me. Left me with this idiot."
"Sweetheart-" Jimin started, way too cheerfully. I spun around. "Listen here, freaking Jimin Park. If you dare to call me that again or even try to annoy me, I swear I will throw you off from the Fifth floor. Not even kidding."
Jimin raised his hands like he was surrendering ,he gave me a big smile and a thumbs-up. "As you say, my highness."
I rolled my eyes. "No overacting."
Jimin chuckled under his breath. "Got that, boss lady."
I began browsing through the dresses section, eyes gleaming at the sparkle and elegance around me. Behind me, Jimin trailed silently, dressed entirely in black like some secret agent. He looked more like my bodyguard than my friend.
