I anchored my forearms on each of my knees as I got done with another set. I reached for my tumbler and chugged down a chunk of water before wiping the sweat off my face using the hem of my compression shirt.

Reaching into my pocket, I took my phone out and changed the music that was ringing on my earpods, and after my two minutes of rest had passed, I resumed lifting weights until I was fully done with my workout routine for the day.

"Hey, done already?"

I looked up from my phone, in the middle of sending a good morning text to my baby.

It was a girl, dressed in her gym attire, her hair tied into a ponytail. The smile she was giving me was authentic and meaningful.

"Yeah, go ahead. You can use the weights."

"Uh...thanks..."

Without uttering another word, I stood up, turned my back on her, and started walking away.

I witnessed how her shoulders loosened, the hope in her eyes draining from the words she had heard from me. While I, on the other hand, could barely contain the pride heaving in my chest, knowing I was utterly and completely owned by a certain someone.

"Ah..." She chuckled, disappointment evident in her tone. "She must be one lucky girl then, having a sexy boyfriend..."

"Nah. It's the other way around." I flashed a smug smirk. "I am one lucky man, having an adorable boyfriend who's also steaming hot at the same time."

I inserted the earpods back into my ear and resumed walking.

The sun's rays penetrated through the orange hue clouds over the horizon, shedding their luminosity on the fine grain of sand beneath my feet. The morning breeze still had its hint of cool and serenity which was the overall atmosphere of the beach resort.

As I strode, the only thing that was engraved on my mind was how excited I was to come back to our unit and go home to my baby.

Dumaan muna ako sa isang convenience store sa loob ng resort at bumili ng mga kailangan para sa magiging almusal namin ni Elize. I made sure to get the finest pieces of ingredients to cook him the most delicious chicken curry he had yet to taste.
