'Where the hell are we?' Cale thought.
Xiao, along with Zhongli, dragged Cale to his place. It seemed somewhat decent, just all the necessities for a single person.
"You're not leaving again, are you..?" Xiao looked a bit worried, or upset. Maybe scared? Boy had every negative emotion emitting from him.
"I don't know." Cale repeated. "What kind of place is Inazuma?" He sat down on a spare chair.
Zhongli sat down next to him. "It's the land of Eternity, ruled by the Raiden Shogun or the Electro Archon."
'Please explain in simpler terms.' Cale pleaded. He would've asked them to, but it seemed like he should've known as "he" has been in this world before. If he gets caught red-handed, would they kill him? Cale shivered at that thought.
"Are you cold, mom?" Xiao asked, going over to the window to close it.
"I'm fine.." Cale answered though he wasn't.
"The nation is in disorder, a civil war is currently happening there. I suggest you don't go until the mess has settled." Zhongli advised Cale. "In the meantime, you can stay with us." He smiled.
"Why is there a civil war?" Cale asked.
"It's mostly due to the Shogun's strict laws restricting the people's freedom. Which caused a riot between the people and their ruler. One of the laws closed the borders, people aren't allowed inside or outside Inazuma, I don't know how Traveler is planning to enter." Xiao explained.
'I guess I'll be staying here for a bit.' Cale decided. 'I'm going to need a place to stay though. I can't stay in Traveler's rented place, since they're leaving soon.'
"So you're staying, right?" Xiao asked. He knew the answer already. "I saved up a lot of mora, since I knew you would be coming back. Feel free to spend how you like." Xiao placed a stash on the table. "That's not all, just a bit of the stock." He smirked.
"When did you start saving?" Zhongli asked.
Xiao grinned. "Jealous?" He teased his father. "You know mother likes money."
Cale's eyes shined, staring at the glistening gold coins bulging from the bag. "Thank you.." He spoke in a bit of an embarrassed, ashamed tone.
"Of course!" Xiao's ears popped up.
Like a cat, Cale thought. He acted like Choi Han, not as a puppy, but as a kitty. Cale raised his hand, petting the boy's head.
Xiao flinched.
Cale retreated. "Did you not like that?" He asked, forgetting that Xiao wasn't Choi Han nor his other kids.
"No.." Xiao blushed, embarrassed. "I like it.." He admitted.
Cale sighed, smiling. He petted Xiao more.
Zhongli watched silently. His expression was just Cale's, emotionless on the outside but hid a lot inside.
Xiao stopped. "Traveler is calling for me."
Huh? Cale was confused, he didn't hear no one or anything at all.
"Let's go together." Xiao held Cale's wrist, taking him away.
Zhongli joined after them.
"Xiao!" Traveler exclaimed.
"Is anything the matter?" Xiao asked.
"We got a package for Cale. Someone said they saw you with him, so I came here to find him. Looks like I was right." Traveler handed Cale a box.
"What's this?" Cale asked, taking it.
"It's the rest of the clothes from Chiori!" Paimon answered.
