Cops

"You know what the time is?" Pony asks "I thought I'm supposed to ask for the time" I say and rise a eyebrow. Pony shrug his shoulders "I don't know but I'm going back to sleep" I say and layed down on the blankets.
I fell asleep fast.
We spent two more days in the tree house before we came to our sense and we ran out of food. We wait until night and then we decide to eat at the dingo then head home. But right before we get to the dingo a cop car pulls up beside us and I become scared and hold pony hand with a death grip and he doesn't say anything about it. "Excuse me kids, but what are your names?" The cop asks "ponyboy curtis" pony says deciding that we better tell the truth than get in trouble for lieing. "May I ask why you want our names officer?" Pony asks "because you match a missing person looks, and what is your name" I look at the cop and say in a quiet voice "Mariah Winston" the look of surprised came to his face "wait your the Dallas Winston little sister" I nod and the cop smiles I don't know why but he does. "Kids can you come with me to the station" the cop said not ask. We get in and the cop begins to drive "you don't act like your brother do you" the cop said to me "no sir" I say and try to losen my grip on pony hand because I must be hurting him. "At least you treat cops with respect, one time I was questioning your brother and he spat in my face". I hide a small smile. We get to the station and he tells us to wait in these two chairs. We wait for what seems like forever not saying one word. Until we see Darry and Dallas come in and hurry up to us. Then its kinda awkward none of us making a move until Pony hug Darry and Dallas hug me. "I'm sorry" pony and I say together "we're glad your safe and all but you two are in a lot of trouble" Darry says. Just then a the cop from early comes over. "Who is the guardian for these two?" "We are" Dallas says "alright come with me". They leave and I turn to pony "I wonder what kind of trouble we'll in" "probably nothing to big but whose knows"
After that we don't talk until Darry comes back but with no Dallas "pony we can go home, and mariah um They're saying Dallas isn't your legal guardian so there calling your parents"
I felt my face drain of color.

Dallas P.O.V

"What you mean I'm not her guardian!"
"Mariah parents are her legal guardians and we can't release her to anyone but her legal guardians" the annoying ass cop says. I try a different idea a good idea but it makes me sick thinking about being nice to cops. "Sir, our parents sent her to come live with me and we haven't had time to do the paper work to make me her legal guardian but we will soon,please sir can I take her home" I lied about her being  sent here and paper work but I don't care I do what I want when I want. "Fine but only because she had good manners earlyer and because my shift is about to be over but I do have to call the parents and tell them about this" I nod and so what if he called mom it not like she'll care. "Thanks" I say and walk back over to mariah Darry and pony.

Mariah P.O.V

I see Dallas walking back and I'm scared that he has bad news. "Ok let's go home" Dallas says and I let out a sigh of relief. We get in Darry truck not saying a word until we get inside of the house. And pony and I are greeted with heys and hugs. "You two up stairs now" Darry says pointing at the stairs "we'll be in in a minute" Dallas adds.We go up stairs and I flop onto pony bed "ponyboy"
"Yeah?" "Nothing I just like saying your name, wait that sounded way creepily right now than it did in my head"  . Pony laughs just then Dallas and Darry came in and then again that awkward quietness. "Ok let's begin this meeting, please take a seat anywhere you please or simply stand" I say and pony laughs and Darry grins but Dallas doesn't see anything funny about it and he simply leans against the wall. "Ok first of all you two are grounded for three months"
I shrug "which means" I say "which means your grounded". I look over to pony and give him a small smile "I would make you guys break up but I remember what happen last time and we don't want to repeat it" Darry says and I shoot pony a glare remembering that girl he dated but I'm not really mad by it but I get really annoyed when someone talks about it. When I had glare at pony he gave me a kisse face and I laughed. Man I can't stay mad at him can I. "And you two can't go anywhere by your self, if you do go somewhere you have to take one of the gang" fair enough.
"One last thing, pony your not allowed to go the rumble Sunday" Darry says and immediately pony reacts "no I have to be in it" Darry sakes his head.
