Bella's POV

I slowly came to, my head throbbing like a drum. Everything was a blur, and I blinked hard to clear my vision. As my surroundings came into focus, my gut twisted with a growing sense of unease. I was in some dingy, crummy room I'd never seen before. The pain in my head was still pounding, making my skin crawl. Panic started to set in, and I let out a low groan as anxiety clawed its way up my throat. I forced myself to breathe, knowing I needed a clear head if I was going to get out of this mess. I took stock of my situation, trying to piece together what had happened. The last thing I remembered was getting into a fight with some guys in the park. Everything after that was blank. But where was I now? And who were those guys? What did they want from me?

My mind was racing, but I knew I had to focus. First things first, I needed to get out of here. Then I could worry about the rest. I took another deep breath and tried to calm myself down, thinking about my next move. I took a deep breath and tried to calm my racing thoughts. I needed to focus on getting out of here. I scanned the room, taking in every detail. It was a dingy, cramped space with peeling walls and a single, flickering bulb casting eerie shadows. A rickety wooden table sat in the center of the room, and a rusted metal door loomed at the far end.

I gingerly stood up, still feeling the lingering effects of whatever they'd given me. My head spun, and my stomach churned. I approached the door cautiously, trying not to make a sound. To my surprise, it swung open easily, and there was no one guarding the entrance. No cameras, either. It seemed almost... too easy. I hesitated for a moment, wondering if I was walking into another trap. But I didn't have much choice. I'd left the house in a rage, and now I was paying the price. No gun, no dagger - I'd been too furious to think straight. I hated losing my cool like that. It always led to stupid mistakes, and right now, I was stuck in one hell of a mess. Regret gnawed at me. Why hadn't I taken a minute to calm down and grab something, anything? Now, I was at the mercy of whoever had brought me here. Anyways, I slipped out of the room, my senses on high alert.

I moved cautiously, unsure of my surroundings. The dimly lit space seemed like a warehouse, but I couldn't be sure. Voices echoed through the area, and I decided to follow them. That's when I spotted a metal rod, and my luck seemed to change. I grabbed it, feeling a surge of adrenaline.

Two men in black stood with their backs to me, speaking in hushed tones in what sounded like Russian. I crept up behind them, rod at the ready. With a swift swing, I struck one of them on the head. He crumpled to the ground, clutching his skull as blood poured out.

The second man lunged at me, wresting the rod from my grasp. I reacted instinctively, kicking him with every ounce of strength I had. My shoes - those clever, knife-equipped monstrosities Sandro had gifted me - proved useful once again. As I stomped my foot, the blades sprang out, and I kicked him in the stomach. He doubled over, blood gushing from his body, and collapsed beside his friend.

This version maintains the intensity and action of the original while making some minor adjustments for clarity and flow.

“Tsk, tsk, tsk… Looks like the princess has grown up.”

The voice came from behind me. My heart stopped.

When did someone get this close? How didn’t I hear anything? Feel anything?

“So, how’ve you been, doll? Missed me?” He whispered in my ear, and I froze.

Everything in me, my body, my mind, my breath, just stopped. I couldn’t move. I couldn’t speak. My skin turned cold, blood draining to my feet. My heart was pounding so loudly it drowned out everything else.

No.
No, no, no.
This can’t be happening. It can’t be him.

But that nickname. That voice. That tone.
Only he ever called me that. Doll.
God, please no. Not him.
