Calum took a deep breath before he exited the back door, not bothering to put shoes on. He approached the fence to hear Michael mumbling curse words under his breath. Calum sat on the ground and pressed a hand against it.

"Michael?" He asked. On the other side of the fence, Michael jumped.

"Yeah. It's me, Calum" he replied. Michael moved closer to the fence and laid next to it.

"Are you okay?" Calum asked. Michael sighed.

"Yeah I'm fine. I just kinda miss home is all"

"Oh. I'm sorry." Calum said, touching his scar absentmindedly. Michael shrugged, forgetting Calum couldn't see him.

"It's okay. I'll get over it eventually. I just need to get used to it here."

"I understand. Sometimes it's a bit difficult to get used to things" Calum said, secretly referring to being blind in one eye and having a massive scar running down his face. He closed his good eye and waved his hand in front of his blind one. No luck. Again. Michael plucked some grass from the ground and sprinkled it on himself.

"Hey, did you hear there's a meteor shower tonight?" Calum asked, changing the subject. Michael chuckled.

"No I didn't. What does a meteor shower look like anyway?" He questioned. Calum smiled. He loved explaining the stars.

"It kinda just looks like a bunch of shooting stars. It's really beautiful" he said, passion lacing his tone. Michael was fascinated, but not with the stars, rather with the boy talking about them. He dreamed to know what he looked like behind that fence.

"That sounds really nice" Michael breathed out. Calum sighed in content.

"It is. You should come out and watch it. I'm going to." Michael smiled.

"Will I be able to see you then?" Calum froze and gulped.

"Oh I don't know.. I was just thinking we'd watch together but separately. You know?" Michael frowned. He was embarrassed for even having asked.

"Oh okay. Sorry." He whispered. Calum hated the sound of pain in Michael voice. Had he done something wrong?

"I just think it'll be fun ya know? A little mystery" Calum added a fake chuckle for effect. Michaels frown deepened.

"Yeah makes sense" he mumbled. Calum wished to pull the boy close and hug him with all his might, but that would require Michael seeing his horrendous deformed face.

"Did I offend you?" Calum asked. Michael ran a hand through his colored hair.

"No its fine. I think I'm gonna go in for a bit. I'll be out at like eight to watch the shower okay?" Calums smile returned.

"Okay, its a date."

Calum blushed.

Michael smirked.
