"yo babe think fast" someone says behind me.

I turn around and a football comes to me hitting me in the cheek "ow!" I say

the guy I'm assuming jogs down the hall way to where I was and picks up the football

"sorry, I didn't mean to. I said think fast" he laughed but tried to get a look of my cheek

I froze once I realized it was one of the jocks. I was probably a bright red right about now.

"are you okay babygirl does it hurt?" he was nice. or seemed like it, compared to the other jocks

"no" I shake my head. he kept apologizing saying he didn't mean to hit my face.

"it's fine really" I smile and he nods smiling back. he takes his phone out and hands me it "babygirl can I have your number?"

I get ahold of his phone and type in my number "thanks" he winks and heads back.

"dude Johnson, the Jack Johnson likes you!" my friend Zoe exclaims

I wake up, my heart beating fast, my chest rising from my breathing, and my forehead sweating.

why do I keep having these dreams.

I head downstairs to see my mom in the living room "what time is it" I ask.

"it's 11:58" I nod but then realize I just skipped school. school starts at 9 for me.

I've been starting to go back to school and i don't know how that's been working out for me yet.

I walk back into my room and take a quick shower.

I grab black distressed jeans, along with a gray crop halter top.

I change into them and head into the restroom to do my hair. although all I did was just straighten it.

zoe: hey why aren't you at school today?

h: I woke up late.

zoe: you were doing great!!

h: yeah well, I'll be back tomorrow hopefully.

zoe: miss you. I'll come by after school!

I love zoe. she's been my friend since birth.

"mom I'll be back I'm going to the grocery store. I need some stuff" I say grabbing my keys from the bowl.

I was more out and about now. more than before.

it's only been a couple months and it's like hell for me.

I get into my car and drive to the grocery store down a couple blocks.

"hi excuse me do you know where the" I stop talking once I realized who it was.

"Jack?" I say my eyes wide "hailey?" he says back

"what, what are you doing here" I ask he left to California after Jack.

"I uh, I came back. I missed my town. the one I grew up in with my best friend" he quietly says.

"so how you holding up" he asks "I'm hanging in there. I've been better" I answer honesty.

"I'm sorry" he tells me "no don't be he was your best friend also" I give him a small smile

"can't believe it's only been a couple months" he says "but anyway what were you looking for?"

"I was looking for the" I was trying to think of the name "crap I don't remember what's it called"

"the macaron ice cream things" I say and he laughs slightly "I'll show you" he leads me to the aisle

"Jack" I say before he leaves "are you think about going back to school?"

"I'm still not sure" he shrugs and sighs "well stay in touch please"

"I will" he promises and returns back to work.

the death of Jack wasn't just terrible for me but for Jack as well.

I return home after paying and getting everything.

dear jack,

you won't believe who I ran into today. Jack. I can tell he's still hurting. as am i. I miss you. the pain is unbearable. I've gone out a few times now, I'm not just in my room. also I've been going to school. well except for today. I've been having these dreams that I wish to never wake up from because you're there. but the thing is I say your name and I wake up. oh baby how I'm hurt from your absence. our late nights turned into late night tears, our I love you's turned into I miss you, my dreams turned into nightmares, my hopes turned to fears, my love for you turned into hate for myself. and all because you're gone.
