Chapter 11- Reconciliation

Dex woke up the next morning with no memories of the previous night. The only thing that really stood out to him in his mind was that something good happened for Kevin. He couldn't exactly remember what though.

He got out of bed, got dressed, brushed his teeth, did his hair, and went into his kitchen. He sighed. His hangover was really bad. After downing some pain pills with a glass of water, he ate breakfast, then head off to work as if nothing were wrong.

While stuck in traffic, Dex took out his cellphone from his jacket pocket. He scrolled through his e-mails, then went over to his text messages. The first one he came across was from Kevin. When he read the text from last night, a car behind him beeped the horn which caused Dex to drop his phone and continue driving.

As soon as he got to the office, Jordan and Dan greeted him, but he just waved silently and walked past them. He opened the door to the Bear Room and shut the door behind him. He plopped onto the pile of large teddy bears and curled up to sleep.

He spent majority of this day in there, reflecting on his feelings.

He realized the true meaning of friendship as he thought of how he wanted Aleks to be happy. No wonder he liked Kevin more than he liked me or James, Dex thought. It didn't matter who Aleks ended up with. As long as Aleks was happy, that's all Dex cared about. He guessed, in the end, that maybe his feelings for Aleks were love. After all, Dex loved Aleks enough to let him go and be happy with someone else. Dex never imagined he'd end up doing such a thing.

He must have actually fallen asleep, because he woke up when the door creaked open and there stood Aron with a camera in his hands. "There you are!" Aron said.

Dex sat up and groaned, wiping his eyes. "What is it now?"

"We need people to do the Hub today," Aron explained, looking down t the camera and fiddling with it.

Dex got onto his feet. "Er...okay."

So, Aron got Dex to do video highlights in the Bear Room, then left.

Dex finally got the courage to talk to Kevin. He walked down the hall to Kevin's office. To his surprise, Kevin, Aleks, and James were in one office room together, all sitting down and talking about something. "There he is," Aleks said. "I was just about to get you, sir."

Dex swallowed nervously and sat next to James, who seemed unusually quiet.

"Kevin and I have decided to be boyfriends," Aleks said right away, as soon as Dex had taken his seat.

Dex scoffed, looked away, and bit his lower lip. "I know that. I've already come to terms with it." He looked at Kevin and Aleks. "I said I was over you, Aleks...but I was lying." He chuckled, struggling to keep a straight face as he explained himself. "Well, I'm not going to lie anymore, so...I'm just going to stay your friend."

Aleks took a glance at Kevin and they smiled at each other. "Thank you, Dex. This means a lot to me that we can stay friends."

Dex just nodded. He felt better now than he ever did before. He could try forgetting he ever loved Aleks, but that would be asking too much. What he could do now was be the best friend possible and make sure Aleks was happy, even if it meant Aleks would be with someone else who made him happy.

James let out a loud sigh. "Alright fine...Look, I'm sorry, Aleksandr." Finally, James looked him in the eyes as he spoke. "I had no real right to get so possessive or whatever. I mean, our relationship was so short. I guess I can't stay in the past." The other three guys stared at James in disbelief.

"What!?" James exclaimed, sounding more like his usual self. "I can be serious sometimes! Jesus!"

They all laughed, finally feeling like normal friends again.

"This is really good!" Dex said as they all settled down. "I feel normal again."

Kevin cleared his throat. "So does this mean everyone's okay now?"

"I guess so," James shrugged.

When they all agreed that Aleks and Kevin were now dating and might need space sometimes, James and Dex left the office to go back to normal work.

Kevin and Aleks hung out again after work, but at Kevin's place this time. "Should we kiss?" Aleks asked as they were playing a video game on Kevin's horribly cheap TV.

Kevin was caught so off guard by the question that he stopped playing his game, causing Aleks to win the round. "What?"

"I dunno. I mean, I got kissed by Dex and James. But maybe if I kissed you, it would make things better," Aleks explained, putting his controller down. He crawled over to Kevin and slowly put his lips to his.

It was all too sudden, but Kevin didn't argue. He dreamed of kissing Aleks too. He held onto Aleks as their mouths slowly slid open and deepened the kiss. Kevin felt a surge of desire storm throughout his body and he roughly  pinned Aleks to the floor. When they pulled away, they stared at each other with wide eyes.

"L-Let's not go that far," Aleks muttered.

Kevin slowly got up and sat away from Aleks, looking down. "I'm sorry...I don't want to be like the other guys and force anything on you."

Aleks sat up as well. "Erm...It's okay. Let's just start slow and just kiss for now."

"Sounds like a plan," Kevin agreed, starting to feel a bit relaxed after having felt so hot and bothered.

Aleks smiled at Kevin, "Thanks for being patient."

"Your welcome," Kevin replied.
