For the rest of the day, he avoided eye contact with Levi. Hanji had came and left every now and then leaving more paperwork on Levi's desk. He had worked his way through it, giving Eren small jobs like handing papers to some of the employees on the floor below. At the end of the day he finally spoke but it wasn't exactly what was on Levi's mind.
"Sir, That's me finished for the day..." Eren said and looked up from the ground. He didn't seem uncomfortable anymore like he had gotten over whatever Hanji had said. Levi nodded and rose an eyebrow.
"Eren? What did Hanji say to you?" Eren froze a little he moved his gaze back to Levi and decided to play it off.
"Nothing she was just telling me something,"
"About?"
"...a friend,"
"Girlfriend?" Levi questioned casually.
"What? No. I don't have a girl-,"
"Boyfriend?"
"Who has a boyfriend?" Hanji interrupted and looked at Eren "You have a boyfriend? Is it that blonde boy?...Armin?" She asked and Levi watched him for an answer.
"Armin?" Eren stared at her in confusion. He had no idea why they were both questioning on his -horribly miserable- love life...not that he even had one.
"Your boyfriend's called Armin?" Levi asked and Eren frowned a little.
"What's it to you?"
"I'm your boss,"
"Yes, my boss. Not my mother," Eren said and turned to Hanji. "I'm finished for today," He turned and left without another word. Hanji looked to Levi, who was watching the closed door that Eren had just closed, and he had a strangely curious look on his usually stoic face.
Eren grumbled quietly and fell facedown on his couch. He had spoken back to his boss...but that wasn't what he was upset over. "Levi thinks I have a boyfriend..." he groaned to himself. "Why didn't I tell him differently...why do I even care," He argued with himself and squeezed his eyes shut. He rolled off his couch and landed on the floor with a thump. A thin strip of cloth hit his face and he pulled it off to see that it was Levi's tie. He mind was instantly flooded with the image of his slender, toned chest. "UGGHH!" he got up and pulled off the tie. His phone vibrated and he flopped over to it to check it.
Hanji: Levi said he wnts u in early tomorrow...and not to bring coffee...
Eren: R u kidding? Ugh fine
He sighed and clambered to his feet. His apartment was a mess...just like this morning. He really should clean up, but he really didn't want to. He shrugged and slipped off his shoes. He left them on the small metal rack next to his door. Walking to the kitchen, stretching, he tried to think about something other than his new boss. Finally deciding on cooking, he made himself some pasta...but when Eren starts cooking...he can rarely stop. He not only made himself dinner but also baked a large chocolate cake, fairy cakes and his lunch for tomorrow. It was a salad with grilled steak and some homemade salted crisps (chips) on the side. He ate his dinner fast and started to clean his kitchen. It was the only room in the house that he always kept completely clean. He decided to call it a night so he could make it to his job on time. If only...
He woke the next morning to the sound of his phone going like crazy. He sleepily rubbed his eyes and lifted the shaking device.
Unknown: You had better not be late
Unknown: Hanji gave me your number.
Unknown: Its Levi
Unknown: Your boss
Unknown: You're late
Unknown: Still late
Unknown: Where are you?!
Unknown: Really? An hour? Do you even want this job?
Eren: Srry I slept in on my way ovr
Unknown: Don't forget the tie
Eren grunted and quickly added Levi's number as a contact before he fell gracefully tumbled out of bed. Climbing to his feet he grabbed his clothes, throwing them on. He sloppily tied his tie and grabbed his bag and his lunch before once again...running to work.
"You're an hour and a half late..." was the lovely 'good morning' he got from his oh-so-cheerful boss. He frowned slightly and bent his head a little.
"Sorry..." He mumbled, but his chin was pushed up.
"You don't need to bow, I'm not the queen." He said quietly then walked to his cupboard. "Give me that tie. You can't even tie them properly," He sighed and held his hand out. Eren's frown was still apparent as he untangled the cloth from his neck. He walked to his boss and wrapped it around his hand like a bandage. Levi turned to him and watched what he was doing. "Eren...?" His voice was quiet with a hint of confusion. "What are yo-"
Eren took a step back once he had finished wrapping the tie. "You said you wanted the tie," he bit back a smirk and chewed the inside of his mouth. He had no idea why he had just done that, but something told him that Levi had seen the glint of mischief that had shimmered briefly in his eyes.
"Oh..okay," He smirked a little and pulled out an identical navy one. Just like yesterday he flipped up Eren's collar and tied his tie. Hanji burst into the room and her eyes widened a little at the sight before her. She shrugged it off and flashed Eren a smile.
"Armin is here to see you...it's urgent...Something about a girl named Mikasa?" She said and Levi took a small step back.
"It's fine, go on." He said flatly and Eren left with a nod.
