Levi looked at him as if he had lost his mind. "Are you kidding?" he asked and raised an eyebrow. Eren shook his head and pulled out a fork. He stabbed a piece of steak and held it up to Levi's lips. Once again he was staring at the brunette like he was insane.
"What? I only have one fork, now eat..." he pressed the meat closer and Levi hesitantly accepted it. He chewed and looked back to his papers. Eren took a bite and nearly choked when Levi suddenly bolted upright and gripped Eren's shoulders.
"Where did you get this?!" he asked urgently. "I need to buy this, its so good."
"I didn't buy it," Eren stared at him, pushing his shoulders back a bit. "I made it..." he felt a little offended. Did he really seem that useless.
"Really?" he asked and looked at Eren in amazement. Eren nodded and rubbed his neck, he offered Levi another piece and he accepted gratefully. He was a little caught off guard. Levi was acting very out of character and Eren hid a smirk. If he always acted like this after Eren's cooking, maybe he could use it to his advantage.
"Hey, Levi?" He said softly and Levi looked up at him. "Do you want me to cook you lunch tomorrow?"
"Yes, please," he smiled and Eren felt his cheeks warm. That smile was something Eren had never expected to see on his usually frowning face. It was nice and made Eren's insides feel like honey. The smile instantly dropped when Hanji ran in and Eren had to fight the urge to punch the intruder to a bloody death. He nodded and shoved some crisps (chips) into his mouth to make sure he didn't say anything he would regret. Levi wasn't so lucky. "Oi! What are you doing? Get out! Eren was feeding me-" He stopped immediately after saying it. "oh...uh...no..." He stammered and Hanji raised an eyebrow.
"Okay then, crazy lovebirds," she shrugged and left. Eren and Levi glance at each other, both blushing a little. Eren definitely didn't think the day could get any crazier...but it did...and maybe not in the best way.
The rest of the work day had gone, surprisingly, without a hitch. Eren waved goodbye to Hanji and Levi. Levi was finishing off some paperwork before he headed home and he looked up to see Eren leaving.
"Night Eren," He said with a nod before looking down at his work. He knew it wasn't much, but Eren appreciated the gesture.
He walked home shivering a little at the cold he had left his jacket at the office. He shrugged, deciding he could collect it tomorrow. He fished out his keys and went to unlock his door. but it was already open. His eyes widened a little and he crept inside. He went to the kitchen first to grab a knife or something, but he was met by a shadowed figure. "uh...Hello?" he asked in a shaky voice.
"Eren." The voice was firm and sent a cold chill that shook Eren's body. He would have ran if the voice wasn't so familiar.
"Dad? What? What do you want?" he gripped the bag at his side tightly.
"You know fine well what I want, Eren." He hissed and Eren felt a sharp slice of terror rip through him.
"Please no...not that," he whimpered
"You've been avoiding it all your life Eren...If you don't let me then you know what I'll have to do..."
"Do that then...I'd rather have bruises than a scarred mind," he hissed and his dad threw glass plates onto the floor. They shattered and covered the floor. He grabbed some of the glasses from the counter. He launched one at Eren's head and one at his feet. He ducked but ended up getting his trousers ripped by the glass. The next thing he knew was that there were punches flying at him. One hit him in the gut and he fought to breathe. He felt tears prick his eyes as the punches bruised his boy. He pushed his dad away and swore loudly. "Stop! Dad, I'm nineteen you can't do this anymore!" he yelled and walked out. He slammed the door shut behind him. He heard his dad yell and he made a break for the front door. Another glass smashed on the wall beside him and the shards sliced his arm. He cursed again, loudly and ran outside. He ran down the street and turned random corners. He didn't stop until he saw a bench. He basically collapsed into it and panted heavily. He needed to get away but maybe running for longer than an hour, wearing a suit, while injured probably wasn't the best idea. He wanted to cry, he hadn't seen his dad in over five years so he had been free from his crap. He only turned up when Eren was starting to be happy. He curled up, hugging his knees to his chest to try and keep out the cold.
He slowly fell asleep and even though it started to rain, he didn't mind because he got to rest and even if it was just for a little while...he got to forget all the bad in the world.
And then, he was found.
