The Moon Fell For The Sun

The Truth Comes Out

                                                                                              -Zuko- 

                       Zuko watched as Katara made her way over to him only to be stopped by a concerned Aang. He watched as Aang spoke to her and they both walked away, Zuko was curious but decided to think nothing of it, they were best friends after all, at the same time that's what worried him the most.

                     Zuko walked away from the crowd surrounding him and made his way towards Hakoda and Sokka sitting by each other enjoying each other's company. He bowed to them and they both looked up in surprise.

                       "Hakoda. Sokka," He looked at them both individually. "If possible could we talk in private, I'd hate to take you away from this party, but I would like to talk to you about Katara's well-being." 

                       "Sure Zuko, especially if it's about Katara." Hakoda says standing up, Sokka frowns and follows his father's lead. He looks toward the direction that Aang took Katara.

                        "Can we make this quick Zuko, I've got to, uh, meet Suki." Sokka lies. Zuko thinks nothing of it and leads them inside the throne room sending away the guards.

                                                                                                   ~Katara~

                      "Aang, I don't know what to say."Katara steps back, she should have expected this, and yet it was still a surprise. 

                      "Katara, say you'll do it. Say you'll be mine, and let me be yours." Aang walks closer to her, grabbing her hand. Katara looks him in the eyes, she knows what she needs to do and takes a deep breath. Aang was so ready for her to say yes, that there was nothing else that he thought she could have ever said. The words that came out of her mouth felt like Azula's lighting all over again and he was broken.

                       "Aang, you're my best friend, but I don't love you. I never have, other then you being like my younger brother. I love someone else, I knew for sure when it mattered most. The fortune teller told me I'd marry a powerful bender. Aang you are a powerful bender, but not the bender for me. There is another powerful man out there whom I love, and he loves me back." Katara looks as a tear slides down Aang's face and resisted the urge to wipe it away. It hurt to hurt him, but she didn't want to lie and say she loved him when Zuko was The One.

                       Aang turned from Katara facing away from her. His back turned and she heard the coldest voice from him, it scared her a little. "Who?" The icy tone from his voice gave her chills.

                      "Why do you want to know, Aang you better not do anyth-"

                         "WHO IS HE?" Aang turned to face her, tears streaming down his angry face. "I want to know who he is, who this powerful bender is. I wanna see just how powerful he is."

                          "Zuko." Her words stopped him right in his anger and heartbreak. "I love Zuko, and he loves me back!" She looked into Aang's teary eyes, and looked away. "I'll be joining the party now, but know this Aang." Now she was cold, she looked into his eye's with anger, "Try to hurt Zuko, and you'll have to hurt me first. Azula almost killed him trying to save me, I will not hesitate to risk my life to save his." With that she turned and walked away from her best friend.

                                                                                                  -Zuko-

                        "If she loves you, than you have my permission Firelord Zuko." Hakoda stood up and looked at his son, "What do you think Sokka?"

                     "It's completely up to her."Sokka says and stands up looks towards the door, "I only care that's she's happy." With that he walked out of the throne room. Zuko and Hakoda looked at each other and shrugged their shoulders. They both walked out of the throne room and Zuko began scanning the crowd for any sign of Katara or Aang.

                   "Zuko," Said a voice from the crowd, a voice he knew so well and thought was the most beautiful sound in the entire world. He saw Katara rushing towards him, and he ran up grabbing her into his arms. He didn't care it was in front of people and kissed he softly, it wasn't very long and he was both love and anger in her eyes. "Everything okay?"

                    "It's Aang, he decided to confess his love and now he's angry." Zuko looked at her and she sighed. "I ruined my friendship with him, and Id on't know what to do." The hurt started to creep into her eyes as she was fighting back tears. 

                   "Aang'll come around, he's just hurt. You didn't ruin your friendship, you both just need space." Zuko said looking at her in concern. "Let's just try to enjoy the rest of the party and have fun."
