Eva Montaigne
********************

Me and my grandfather sat down and he began telling me the story of how he found me. He also told me stories about my biological parents.

After my mom, Evelyn Montaigne, the sole heiress to the family empire, fell in love with my dad, Raymond Smith, her personal bodyguard back at the time, grandfather got furious at her and gave my mom two options.

She could either join my dad and never return or break up with my dad and marry a wealthy businessman. My mom chose my dad. Which also meant that out of anger and disappointment grandfather also cut all her ties to the Montaigne fortune.

When mom was pregnant with me, she and dad had a hard time getting enough money to go to the hospital for check ups. Both of them lived at my dad's old apartment building. While growing up my parents weren't able to buy me new clothes or expensive toys, but they made me happy and they made me feel loved and I was thankful because they gave me what I needed rather than just the things I just wanted.

I was around twelve when my parents were able to have a vacation, it was a one week cruise, I was fine with the idea because I knew that my parents hadn't been able to have a proper vacation since the day they had me. They left me with my aunt until they came back.

The tragic part was, they never came back.

There was a major malfunction in the ship's engines and before anybody knew what to do or how to fix it there entire ship just began sinking. The ship was at open sea, waves crashed against it only making it go down faster. The bodies of my parents were never recovered. They must have sunken down with the ship.

"Eva?" Grandfather asks me when he's done telling me the story. "Is everything alright? You look pale."

"Uhh." I stammered. "Um- yeah. I guess." Idiot. My mind was spinning with all the news. I needed time to let it all sink in.

I look at my watch and see that it's already 11:57 p.m. "Thank you grandfather for telling me my parent's story, but I've gotta go home."

"Eva, this is your home." He says. "You are the heiress of the Montaigne empire, you alone will inherit everything under the Montaigne name when I die. Everything, even the responsibilities that need your attention."

"Oh..." I breath out. "But what about all my stuff back at my apartment?"

"You won't need them anymore. You have everything you need here, and if you need something else you can always but something new to suit your taste." Grandfather said.

Damn, I never knew my family would be this wealthy to just be able to buy anything they want in a snap. I remained silent and just nodded my head.

"Is there anything else you'd want to know, Eva?" He asks me.

"Why didn't you try to find me when I was still young? I'm already twenty years old my parents died eight years ago." I asked a little angered. I mean seriously?! After all those years of living with my aunt, who wasn't that nice to me, and her annoying children this is the time I go back home?! Ugh.

"Eva, your parents hid you well and I even used my people to search for you but they never found you, until now." He says calmly and gently pats my hand. "You have to understand, I searched for you Eva and I wasn't that lucky those past eight years, but now you're here."
