Chapter Forty-Two
One of the biggest forms of flattery is knowing that just by being your normal, wonderful self… you make someone fall in love.
‘Do you know why I brought you here?’ Cupid asked me when we were both alone at the choir loft.
I shrugged my shoulders then he pulled me to face the altar.
‘My dad proposes to my mom here.’ he said and that made me look at him. I swallowed hard immediately.
‘I want that when you finally say that you love me, it would be in this place too.’
Awwww… he’s so… sweet.
‘You…’ I shook my head. I know I’m washing my blush away. ‘You talk so much that I couldn’t say a word. You almost said the things that I wanted to say.’
He chuckled. ‘What can we do about it? I’m in love.’
I smiled back. ‘I’m not use to this…’ I played with our hands.
‘Then get use to it.’ he intertwined them.
I kind of like the feeling when I’m with Cupid. It feels like it was just yesterday that I saw him in class and I was smitten by his irresistible charm. Ha-ha Wow! Smitten?!
Every day he picks me up at our house and he gives me a ride to school. My parents and siblings didn’t mind the idea since they already knew I guess. Even though it wasn’t entirely Valentine’s Day but I still feel like it is every day when I’m with him. When I’m with him, he makes me feel that nothing else and no one else ever exist except us two.
But the weirdest part of all… even though I have him he still makes my heart flatter and beat unconsciously.
Two months had passed and Cupid and I were already inseparable. He wanted me to have a sleep over at their house but I always resist because I don’t want his parents to think of you know… anyways even though we always see each other we really find it hard to let go of each other. Most of the time, he would crack a joke to me that we run away together. I would of course hit his head. I never thought of running away even though I want to be with him. But it’s just wrong to do it.
‘Do you want to go someplace else?’ he asked me one time as we were strolling at the church garden.
I shrugged my shoulders. ‘Anywhere with you would be great.’
He smiled and he pushed me a little with his shoulder. I did the same to him.
‘Why, where would you want to go?’ I asked.
He picked a yellow rose from the bushes and then he handed it to me.
‘Straight to your heart.’
I laughed at his cheesy-ness. ‘Okay, then we won’t have a future if that’s the case.’
He held my hand and he kissed it before pulling me to a different road.
‘If I would bring you to someplace else in this world… would you go with me?’
My eyebrows met at his sudden question. I laughed awkwardly instead to lessen the tension.
‘As long as the place is considerable and same as the reason—why not?’
I looked at him cautiously. When I was about to open my mouth and say something he grinned at me and he pulled me to a half run.
‘Let’s go then!’
