'So you carry my bag and open doors for me. When we get out the car, you also open the door for me, and help me to get out of the car,' a girl said to a boy. 'Just be a gentle man, and don't wear that ugly jeans! It's awfull,' she added.
The boy nodded fast. 'Good. Now I have to go.' She came closer to him a whispered something, a little too loud: 'And don't talk to the maid.' She left a kiss on his cheek and went through the door.
I watched the girl leave and the boy staring to the door.
The boy turned his face to me and as fast as possible I turned my eyes away and dusted off the table where I was in front of.
He sighed. 'I'm almost ready, I'm sorry,' I said.
'Hey, no problem.'
I smiled and could feel his eyes follow me as I walked around the room.
Because of my clumsiness, I let overturn a vase. The boy saw it just in time and caught the vase.
'Thank you so much,' I said while my face turns bright red. 'No problem,' he said smiling. 'Thomas.' He held out his hand, waiting for a reaction.
I noticed it and took his hand and shook it. 'Aline,' I said. 'Cool name.' he said.
'Thanks,' I said smiling. 'Is she your girlfriend?' I realized it was pretty rude to ask that. And turn bright red again. 'Yes, she wants me to meet her parents,' he explained
'Cool.' I felt uncomfortable with the fact Thomas was standing close to me. I walked a little further. 'Nah, she doesn't like the way I'm dressed. She wants to change me into a posh and cliché boyfriend. You know, that kind of boy from a movie or book.'
'Oh,' I said. I didn't knew what to say. 'That sucks.'
'Hmh,' he mumbled. 'Thomas! Come here! I need you!' I heard a voice yell in the hallways, which was clearly his girlfriend's voice.
As fast as possible I walked away and started to dust off an other cupboard.
The door swung open. Her shorts covered her butt for half and her top was a little too small. Her red lipstick seems to light up in darkness. And probably she is very heavy because of the makeup which weighs 10 tons.
'Hey, what's the problem?' Thomas said.
'Hey? Thomas you can't say hey to me when you meet my parents. You have to call me darling or love. Not "hey",' she said bitchy.
I rolled my eyes and sighed.
'Why are you sighing? Go clean up, little girl,' she said to me.
'Laura, don't say that. That isn't kind,' Thomas said.
'Who cares, she's just a maid.'
My eyes became wide. Just a maid? Who is she to say that?
'She is a maid and person. So don't say that,' he said. 'Love,' he added as fast as he could.
I covered my mouth, trying to stop my laugh.
'Tommy, I'm always right. Don't say I'm not,' she said while playfully placed her fingers on his chest.
'Ok, darling. I need to go to the toilet first,' he said while he pushed her fingers away.
She nodded and Thomas walked to the toilet.
There was an awkward silence.
'Why he is protecting you?' she said with a piercy look.
'I don't know,' I replied quietly.
'Ok, you better be no friends with him.'
I nodded and dusted the window. When Thomas came out of the toilet he walks straight to the door. Not looking at me for even a second. A little paper fell out of his pocket, and I ran to the door to stop Thomas, but I was too late. He and his girlfriend went around the corner. I unfolded the paper and watched to the letters. The handwriting was pretty bad and hard to read. When I finally had deciphered what was written on the paper, I saw it was a phone number. Under the phone number was written: 'Hey Aline, yiu should text me.'
