A steady knock comes from my cabin door, the persistence of it pulls a sleeping me from my dreams. I groan as I roll from my soft and warm bed, peering out the window to see the stars still shinning brightly.

"This had better be important..." I mumble as I make my way to the wooden door.

"Captain Darius" Ray tips his head before meeting my eyes.

"What is it that has you waking me so?" I fold my arms across my chest indignantly.

"Sir, we just pulled the fish net up and, well you are gonna wanna see this for yourself Captain."

My curiosity chases away the annoyance instantly, occasionally we find treasures this way but nothing my Vice Captain would wake me for. He steps out of my way as I walk out on to the quarter deck. I am truly lucky to have such a fine vessel as this, two upper cabins and 2 lower ones. Thanks to its size, long months at sea are more enjoyable.

Shaking from those thoughts I glance down to the main deck and see a group of my men huddled on the up near the bow. Something else catches my attention too, the seas are calm and yet I can't hear anything aside from the soft waves slapping against the hull of the ship. Which is completely out of place, the men are usually up in laughter and going about the nightly duties. I raise an eyebrow as Ray follows me down the stairs.

"Trust me you are gonna wanna see this with your own eyes." He shrugs he shoulders as he walks past me, "Alright the Captain is here. Get going with yourselves, we will take it from here."

The men all walk past me, bowing their heads in respect. Ignoring them, I look to where Ray is staring at on the floor. As he steps to the side I see a few barrels, fabrics, broken wood pieces and a person. Surely not. We are weeks away from the nearest port and have seen no signs of a recent wreck.

"Secure the sails men and slow our speed. If there is lingering treasure about this area I don't wanna miss it. Gill take to the scouting roost, call out anything that seems out of place. Arch, I want a sweep of this area before we continue our heading." I watch everyone take to my orders without delay, though I quickly turn to Ray, "Take him to my quarters for now and keep an eye on him. When he wakes come and get me."

"Right away Captain." Ray bends and fails at picking up the unconscious man.

Ray grunts a bit but eventually has an arm hooked around his shoulders and hauls the man upwards, dragging the guys feet to the cabin.

"Jameson come and get this cargo sorted below deck, make sure everything gets to where it belongs."

Hours pass and more cargo is hauled up with clear indications of a lost ship. Though only the man seems to be the sole survivor yet remains unconscious. I stand on the bow's quarter deck, feeling the first rays of morning light, knowing it is time to leave this area. I turn heading back down to the main deck, calling out loudly to the crew as I walk down the stairs.

"Alright guys, it's time to get back on track before rotations." I clap my hands together loudly and everyone sets about to the last bit of work.

"Captain, they are starting to wake up!" I Ray's deep voice booms out from the stern of the ship.

I'm not sure what i was expecting when I walked into my cabin but I know I wasn't expecting a pair of ice cold blue eyes glaring between Ray and myself. That gaze isn't that of a grateful to be alive vibe, no it is more of a move and I will kill you gaze. Even for someone as experienced as myself, this man's gaze is unsettlingly to my core. It is only extenuated by his long black hair.

"Where am I?" His question so harsh I nearly didn't realize it was him speaking.

"How about you say thank you for saving me?" I ask perplexed and annoyed by his lack of manners.
