The ride to the professor's house was silent.

Susan passed the time by gently running her hands across the the ring she wore upon a chain. She couldn't believe she had just lost Caspian and Professor Kirke. Why did the ones she love have to die?

Edmund stared moodily out the window. Lucy had brought Nathan along, thoroughly annoying Edmund. He was in a bad mood already, finding out of his best friends death. And also professor Kirke? This wasn't fair. Edmund sighed and continued his moody stare.

Lucy rested her head on Nathan's shoulder. It was a tragedy, Caspian's death, but England was their home for now, and while she would always want to return to Narnia and believed they would, she knew to accept Aslan's will and be content where she found herself. But the professor's death hit Lucy hard. He was such a kind old man, and she was glad she had Nathan to support her in this tragic time.

Peter kept his eyes on the road. Elizabeth held his hand, reassuring him it would be alright. Elizabeth had the opportunity to meet the elderly man once, and had instantly found him a great, kind-hearted person. Both she and Peter were ton up about this. Finding out that Narnia was in danger really made them upset as well.

"Peter, dear, the driveway was back there," Elizabeth said gently.

Peter turned the automobile around and pulled up by the old estate.

Mrs. Mccready was long gone, but the professor still had house keepers. A young lady opened the door. "Welcome Pevensies and friends. The attorney is in the study. May I take your coats?"

Peter nodded and the group handed the girl their coats.

"Here, let me help you," Edmund offered.

"Thank-you sir," The girl said.

"Sir? I'm 19, not much older than you. Call me Edmund," he smiled.

"Fine, Edmund. I'm Marilyn, and to be specific, you are two years older than me," Marilyn said.

"It was a pleasure to meet you, but I should be getting to my family," Edmund said.

"Yes, of course," Marilyn said.

Edmund headed up to the library to hear the reading of the will. He made it just in time to hear the last five readings.

"To Sir Peter Pevensie I leave my vast library. May the knowledge roar in your ears like a mighty lion and may the books send you to another land."

"To Miss Susan Pevensie I leave the manor and grounds, as well as the stable. May you rule the household with your courteous and gentle ways."

"To Mister Edmund Pevensie I leave my collection of swords and armor. May they be used it the greatest time of need and practice."

"To Miss Lucy Pevensie I leave the wardrobe in my spare room. I remember how you admired it years ago, when a war broke out. I know that it will hold everything your heart desires inside it."

"Lastly, to Marilyn Corlen I leave this last piece of knowledge. Things are not as they always appear. Be prepared for what you will see."

Edmund looked over to see Marilyn smile slightly. It must have been something between the girl and the Professor.

Susan had been left this beautiful home? She was flattered. Oh course Lucy would get the wardrobe, it only seemed fair. But what did he mean that it held her hearts desire? Was Narnia inside it?

"All you got was a wardrobe? And your sister got the whole house?" Nathan asked angrily.

"But that wardrobe means so much to me," Lucy sighed happily.
