It had been a few days since Ellie's cover of 'Unholy' had been posted. Her members reactions weren't unexpected— it was always a shock when they remembered she wasn't a 15 year old girl anymore. The relatively sexual dance had gained mixed reactions on the internet, but most people were just in awe of her dance skills.
Most comments shared similar sentiments; "she finally got to show off her personal style." That was exactly Ellie's goal, and if she seduced a bunch of people in the midst, then why not?
As she walked towards the elevator to head up to the practice room, she looked up and saw a familiar face. "Hi Soobin," Ellie smiled. The junior bowed, though she had always told him to lose the formalities, since they were the same age.
"I saw your dance cover," he mentioned, instantly making her blush. Though it was alright to receive praise online, it was always rough in person. Ellie braced herself.
"You looked.." he trailed off, looking for a respectful way to put it. "Hot?" Seungcheol completed, appearing out of nowhere in the hallway.
The two younger idols yelped, unaware of his presence. "Oh, hello hyung," Soobin bowed, confused on whether he had to apologise or not. Ellie tightened her hood ever so slightly, even though she wanted to choke herself. With the most apt signal she could think of, she advised Soobin to run away as fast as he could with her eyes motioning to the door. Thankfully, he caught on and escaped immediately.
"You have to stop ruining my every chance to speak to someone," Elaine rolled her eyes, continuing to walk towards the lift with her leader. "It's my job to protect you," Seungcheol shrugged, ruffling her hair.
"When will I escape the older brother syndrome?" She groaned, making the older chuckle as they got onto the elevator. "I mean, you looked hot, that's no doubt. But you're still my child."
"What is this messed up shit?" She grumbled. "Don't call me your child and hot in the same sentence."
"Hey, I'm better than your actual brothers at the least," he quipped back. Ellie raised her eyebrow, yet couldn't help but concede— the first time her oldest brother had met some of the members, he told her off for sitting too close to "the grumpy looking emo one." He was talking about Wonwoo, who just didn't understand what her brother was saying due to the language barrier.
"I'm never going to date at this point. And if I am, it's going to have to be in secret," she joked. Seungcheol furrowed his eyebrows as the two got out of the elevator. "Hey," he spoke, now facing her.
Elaine raised her eyebrow at the sudden shift in the atmosphere around them.
"If you ever start dating someone, or even like someone, or even just kiss someone, you can tell me. My job is to protect you, but that doesn't mean I'm not your friend, too."
Ellie cringed at the "kiss someone," line, remembering how young Seungcheol still thought she was, but she appreciated the sentiment nonetheless. She nodded and wrapped her arm around him, giving him a brief side hug, to show her gratitude.
The older widened his eyes slightly at the uncommon physical affection, but took in the moment.
"Does this mean you won't scare off people trying to flirt with me now?" She asked as Seungcheol placed his arm around her shoulder.
He pulled her in closer, messing up her hair and laughing. "Let's see about that," he spoke as the two reached the practice room.
She might have to stay single forever.
