KATYA.
"You're so petty" I mumbled lowly, getting nothing but silence in response as Von walked up the steps of Tweety's AirBnB. "You said fifteen minutes, not a fucking hour. You could've texted me or something. Why would you wait until you five minutes away to tell me you, 'had something come u—"
I stopped my rambling once he grabbed my chin and made me look up at him— my mind busy trying to figure out if he was saying anything with his face. The whole mute, nonchalant act was already starting to bother me deeply.
Not only was he almost two hours late, but he also had the audacity to not call or tell me anything until he was only a few minutes away.
"..." He tilted my face to the side, getting a better look at the red and now lightly swollen scratch mark on my lower cheek. "Where this come from?" Staring hard into the scratch.
"I tried to help break up the fight and accidentally got scratched." I answered truthfully, watching him start to furrow his eyebrows. "But they not here anymore, Tweety kicked them out."
"Why you out hea' by yourself?" He asked before releasing my face. "C'mon" He grabbed my clutch from its spot beside me. "Couldn't sit in the house?
I stood up from the rocking chair, getting my hand grabbed as he began to lead us back to the Range Rover. "I sat in the house for forty minutes but it took you so long to get here that I got bored and came back out here."
"Don't start some shit" He mumbled lowly, getting a quick glance from me. "You coulda sat inside."
"That doesn't explain why—" I took a second look once I noticed his outfit, my eyebrows furrowing up as I slowly continued to eye him. Then my brain connected the pieces, observing that his current sweatsuit was different than the white tee and jeans he dropped me off in. This was insane to me because for one, if you're in such a rush that you can't come pick me up— how do you have time to go change?
"You coo?" He asked calmly before looking back at me, clearly noticing how quickly I stopped nagging.
"I'm fine. What happened when you were about to pick me up?"
"...." He turned back around, "Just some shit I had to handle." A dismissive shrug following his mumbling.
