Flash back

"Ugh, I really gotta get home," I groan, glancing at Katsuki.

He raises a brow. "Why? You're never in a rush to get home."

"Yeah, well, tonight's different. If I get home late and don't study for my math test, my parents are gonna lose it."

"Seriously?" He smirks. "We all know you're gonna fail it anyway."

"Shut up." I swat his arm, rolling my eyes. "That's exactly why I have to study."

"Fine, fine," he says with defeat, pushing up from the grass. "We'll go."

He offers his hand and pulls me to my feet. We've been in our spot for hours. Just lying around, talking, pretending the world doesn't exist. But now the sky's getting dark, and the woods are a little too quiet.

As we step out from the trees and onto the sidewalk, both our phones buzz—over and over.

We exchange a look and pull them out.

Three missed calls from Mom.
Two from Dad.
Four texts.
One from Izuku.
Three more missed calls from him too.

"Shit," I mutter. "We have to go. Now."

I grab Katsuki's hand and take off running.

We hit the driveway just as my mom spots us from the window. Her face twists the second she sees me, and she's out the front door in seconds, yelling before I can even catch my breath.

"Y/N! WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN?"

"We were at the park," Katsuki jumps in. "No service. It wasn't her fault—"

"I'm not talking to you," she snaps, waving him off like he's nothing. "This is between me and my daughter."

"Mom—" I start, but she's already moving.

"Get inside. Now." Her hand grabs my wrist, pulling me toward the door.

I look back once—just long enough to see Katsuki sit down on the curb, confused and pissed, but still waiting.

"What were you thinking?" she gasps, enunciating every word.

"Mom, we were just down at the park. Your texts didn't go through—I'm sorry," I insist.

"Didn't go through? Are you kidding me, Y/N?"

"I've told you time and time again, I don't like that boy, and now this?" she says, literally putting her hand to her face in frustration.

"It's not his fault—it was my idea to go!" I argue.

"No, Y/N! Don't try to defend him!" she snaps. "You're a nice girl. You should be with someone better, and you know it."

"Mom!"

"That is enough!" she shouts.

"You are not to see that boy anymore, and that is final!"

"No, it's not! It's not final!" I cry.

"Yes, it is."

"Mom, please—we lost track of time. It won't happen again. Don't do this," I plead.

"Again? There will be no 'again,' young lady."

"Mom, it was an accident! Don't act like this!"

"No, Y/N. I've let you have your fun, but you have to understand—you cannot be with this boy."
