THIRD PERSON'S POV

With every stroke of the brush, Y/N's hand moved with urgency. She had to finish it before school ended-just to prove herself.

Y/N was a dedicated art student, though often overlooked by her peers-whether because of her quiet nature, her anxiety, or maybe a bit of both.

She had been working on a painting to submit for the annual exhibition-an event where thousands of students from her school competed, but only one artwork would be chosen to represent them all.

She was somewhat de-motivated.... not out of insecurity about her art. No, she took pride in her skills. But there was one competitor, the same person who managed to win every single year.

She finished her painting and submitted it. Later, as she walked past the rows of submitted artworks, one piece in particular caught her attention. In fact, it seemed to catch everyone's attention-the crowd had gathered noticeably around that single painting.

She stood in awe of the painting, admiring its brilliance until her expression shifted into a frown. The name beneath it was all too familiar, the same name that won every year and whose artwork was always chosen to represent the school.

"I bet he'll win this year too. The competition's tough, yet he manages to overcome it all." Y/N overheard a random student say to their friend.

Y/N frowned again. It wasn't that the other paintings were so bad, that everyone was so sure about this particular one winning. But she had to admit, the painting was almost too perfect to be real.

Her eyes scanned the name of the painter: Jung Hoseok.

Just then, the crowd erupted in cheers and excitement. Y/N's gaze shifted to the entrance, where the popular art student, Jung Hoseok, had appeared. The crowd's attention shifted from his painting to him. Y/N watched him for a moment, noticing how indifferent and nonchalant he seemed about all the attention. Her eyes then returned to the painting, the mysterious muse still captivating her.

She would admit it but she was jealous. Jealous of his fame, his artistic skills, and how effortlessly he managed to draw a crowd, all while remaining so indifferent about it. She couldn't help but find him arrogant and cocky.

She probably worked just as hard as him on her paintings, yet here they were, both not receiving the same level of attention.

She walked towards another area, examining the other paintings. Then, her gaze drifted back to the crowd. Her breath almost hitched; she nearly flinched. There, Hoseok's eyes seemed to be watching her intently. When he caught her stare, he quickly shifted his focus back to the paintings.

"What... weird..." Y/N muttered to herself, trying to brush it off, but deep inside, there was this strange, unsettling vibe that lingered.

Time passed, and as expected, Jung Hoseok won again this year. Y/N couldn't hide the hurt on her face. This was the first time she had stepped out of her comfort zone and participated in something like this. She knew she was no match for Hoseok's art, but still, expecting something wasn't a bad thing, was it?
