Y/N'S POV

Namjoon and I were still combing through this eerie, abandoned place, searching for that elusive piece of paper. The whole thing was laced with this creeping sense of fear-every shadow felt alive, every creak echoing in the silence. But honestly, beneath all that, I was just bored out of my mind, typical for me.

"It has to be here, in this room." Namjoon murmured, his gaze cutting over to me. I met his eyes and nodded. I wasn't paying much attention to it. Together, we moved toward the dusty old drawer, pulling each one open, sifting through the mess one by one, hoping that our search wouldn't be in vain.

As I reached into the drawer, I felt Namjoon's arm brush against mine, jolting me with the realization of just how close he was standing. His attention was fixed on rummaging through the drawers, but the light, unexpected touch pulled my focus entirely to him. I glanced at him in confusion, feeling a strange tension hanging in the air between us.

"I think that's the one." Namjoon said, his voice low as he glanced toward a lone piece of paper on my right. I turned, spotting it too, just as he reached across me from the left, his arm grazing mine again. But this time, he leaned in closer, stretching to grab it, bringing us so close that I could feel the warmth of his body against mine. There was barely an inch left between us, trapping me there, his focus solely on the paper as his presence grew overpoweringly close.

He lingered there, holding that closeness longer than he needed to, as if savoring the moment. Finally, he eased back, piece of paper in hand, but I stayed rooted in place, eyes fixed on the paper in his grasp. He inspected it intently, but I couldn't shake the lingering warmth between us. It felt almost... overpowering, get it? As if he was trying to own me or something. Hah, I am tripping probably.

He must've noticed that I hadn't moved any closer on my own, because in one smooth motion, he stepped in beside me again-this time, closer than before, close enough that his shoulder brushed against mine, almost daring me to react. His gaze drifted from the paper to me for just a second, as if testing my reaction, a hint of something unreadable flickering in his eyes. The air felt thick, tense, like he was waiting for me to break first.

On the crumpled fragment of paper, a single, incomplete letter was scrawled, as if it were just a part of something larger. The edge was jagged, torn from the rest of the original, leaving the alphabet barely legible, cut off halfway. It was a clue, but maddeningly vague, like the beginning of a secret only hinted at. We both stared at it in silence, the weight of its mystery drawing us deeper into whatever had led us here in the first place.
