Every event in his life had culminated into this one single moment. This perfect, precious moment. No one and nothing else existed except him and her. He felt nothing else, loved no one else but her.
Just them.
Him and her.
He didn't feel the carpet chafe his knee as he knelt beside her and heard not a sound from the insects outside.
All that was, was him and her.
He was so close to her. So close that he could count every eyelash. He could do nothing but stare at her perfect nose. She was perfect.
He closed his eyes as he touched his forehead to hers, mesmerised by her. He felt her tears as it rolled onto his cheek and breathed in her scent. Her fingers tensed against his as he kissed her fingertips.
This was that moment.
He pressed his lips against hers.
This was his perfect moment.
