Song: Fake Your Death~ My Chemical Romance

He wanted his parents to love him for him.

Calum was woken by the sound of the front door closing. He knew his parents were home, so he quickly scrambled out of his bed and straightened his, now crinkled, uniform to make it look like he's been at school.

"Calum." his mum called from downstairs, "Come downs."

Calum tried to act normal and calm hoping that maybe they don't know about his bad grade and/or the fact that he skipped school.
He walked into the living room.

"Sit down we want to talk to you." As calum sat don, the expressions in their faces told him it was serious. Surely they don't know already? Calum thought to himself.

His dad placed a letter on the coffee table. "What's this?" Calum questioned as he picked it up to read the letter. Calum read the first few sentences.

Dear Mr and Dr Hood,

Your son, Calum Hood, wasn't in school today since 10:30. Please can we have a handwritten and signed letter of explanation or serious charges of truancy will have to be faced.

Crap. Calum thought.

"Mum, dad let me explain."

"No calum. Were not done." His mum cut him off in a harsh tone.

"We checked online for your grades because we know the physics results came in today. Calum Hood a B is not acceptable!" His dad shouted.

"It was just a little quiz its not a exam. Stop making a big deal out of it." Calum protested.

"Don't you ever talk to us with so little disrespect! And we don't care what it was, the problem is that you got a B and thats not enough. Do you even want to have a future because you won't get one if you keep getting B's." His mum piped in.

"I left school because I had an anxiety attack!" Calum justified.

"You will not spread those lies in this household! You don't have anything wrong with you. It's just an excuse. You won't get anywhere with excuses. Now go upstairs and studdy. I want 5 test papers done by the time I get back!" His dad screamed.

Calum just sat there in shock. Not knwoing what to do or say.

"Go, get out of my sight." Calum's mum dismissed him.

Calum sat on his bed. He wasn't going to start his test papers yet. And he wasn't going to do them. He was too angry to even think about being upset or sad right now.

Normally he would call Mali and ask her what to do but he didn't want to. He just wanted to sit and think on his bed.

Calum would much rather not tell anyone about his problems. He would rather carry the weight of his situations than offload it on to someone else's shoulders.

Calum sighed as he walked over to his wardrobe. He pushed it aside and went behind it go grab a bag of crisps.

As he sat back on his bed. He picked out his first lightly salted crisp but he wasn't even hungry anymore.

He looked outside his window and saw the local park.

"Here I come, ready or not!" Calum yelled out.

He was in the park-his favourite place- with his best friend George. They were playing a game of hide and seek.

Even though they were 8 (nearly 9) it was still one of Calum's favourite games. That's what calum likes about George he doesn't judge him and he never made fun of him either.
