We drove to the party in silence. I was silently freaking out inside, my palms were sweating and I was trying not to hyperventilate. I kept rubbing my palms on my pants to get the sweat off.
As we got closer to the party I closed my eyes. My hands shaking slightly. When the car stopped I didn't open my eyes.
"Tay?" Marc whispered. I could tell he was leaning in, his breath on my neck.
"Yes?" My voice shook slightly.
"Look at me." I opened my eyes and turned my head, our noses bumped against each other.
"Your going to be fine. It won't be like the last party. We won't drink, we won't leave each others side, and we won't take things too far. And we don't know anybody, so in a way it's like a do over for us." He whispered. He never broke eye contact with me, and his smile melted my heart.
"God you're the best boyfriend." I whispered cupping his face and crushing his lips against mine. He smiled against my lips and kissed me back, my hands tangled in his hair and I tried getting closer to him but he pulled away breathing hard.
"I said we wouldn't go too far." He breathed, he sounded like he wished he never said that.
I smiled. "Oh please, I had myself under control." I said.
He laughed. "Come on." He opened his door and waited for me. I sighed and got out of the car walking up to him.
He wrapped his arm around my waist and tugged me to the house. The house reminded me of the beach house it was right next to the lake, it was big and there was people all over the place. He gave my waist a lightly squeeze as he opened the door and entered.
Music instantly pounded in my ears, people were everywhere either talking, dancing, or making out.
Marc let go of my waist and took my hand instead as he pulled me through the crowd. Some looked at us while others continued doing what they were doing before we came in.
I had no idea where he was dragging me but I went with him holding his hand hard.
"Hey, didn't think you'd come." Someone said, I looked up and saw James smiling at us a beer in his hands.
"Grandma convinced us to stay." Marc shrugged letting my hand go so he could do the man hug thing, once he was done he grabbed my hand again.
"Good, John is somewhere with his girl of the month." He shouted. I rolled my eyes at this James saw and laughed.
"See we aren't that much of a player, at least we keep them for a month." He said to me.
"Yeah but a player is still a player, no matter how long you 'keep' them." I did air quotes.
He just laughed and said something to Marc, I couldn't hear because someone decided to turn the music up at that time. But marc smiled and gave me a wink I just smiled and shook my head.
"Dude Dave has been looking for you all night." James said taking a deep drink of his beer. Marc stiffened.
James noticed this and said. "You knwo he was only joking around. You know he always had a thing for your mom. It was nothing."
"Yeah, right." Marc said looking like he was going to kill someone. "What does Dave want?"
James shrugged. "He said that you knew. He wouldn;t say what you knew, but he kept repeating it, oh wait he said it was about your mom. He needs to talk to you about something."
Marc clenched his fist. I wondered wwhy he was getting mad. I mean yeah i understand he's pissed at Dave for saying those things about his mom, but obviously there was something else that he wasn't telling me.
