Part 4

Cassandra's POV:

One of the places I'm not delighted to go to is highschool. Just because it's my last year, I still bear going to school.

" Cass, breakfast is ready ! "

I head downstairs, my brother decided to make breakfast for me. It is these moments that make me ache for the leaving of Louis.

" Do you want me to pick you up after you finish classes? " Louis suggested after I finished my breakfast.

" No, Elena's mother is going to pick us up "

" Okay, I'll wait for you here "

" Deal, see you "

I grabbed my keys, kissed my brother goodbye and went to school. Elena was waiting for me in front of the house, in fact, she is my neighbour.

" Good morning "

" Hey Eli "

" Slept well ? "

" Yeah "

" Have you seen Joe ? "

" I haven't talked to him since New Year's Eve "

" I see, your brother is here ? "

" Yeah "

She gave up and ended the conversation here not asking me more questions.

The school was crowded since 8 am in the morning, I guess everyone has early classes. I had Math class first which doesn't delight me at all.

Joe was in the hall playing with his phone like always. Before we reached him, he rose his head and greeted us.

" Good morning girls ! "

" Good morning Joe " Elena and I said at the same time.

" Ready for school? "

" Duh, not at all " Elena replied while rolling her eyes.

" Well; I need to join the class now, see you later " I finished saying while rushing to my class.

I took my seat in the last row, took my notebook out and waited for the teacher to enter.

" Hello Cass "

I turned to see who was it and found that it was Steve. To clarify it a bit, Steve is one of the popular guys in Highschool, he is rich, so hot and every girl dreams to be his girlfriend exept me because Im not really into him.

I gave him a quick fake smile before turning to my position. It really annoys me when people wants to start a talk with me. To my biggest enjoyement, the teacher entered the classroom announcing the beggining of the lesson.

I really find it boring just sitting here listening to the teacher who was just talking x and y but I really need to succeed this year. I decided to get a good degree so I can be able to enroll in a university in LA and join my brother there. I only have to bear all this for one year then I will be free.

We were all gathered in the canteen savouring our meals. Even though I was surrounded by people, I always feel like something is missing, I always feel this emptiness.

" Cass do you agree ? "

" Huh? what did you say ? "

I really didn't pay attention to what Joe was saying.

" I said that we really need to go camping somewhere, good idea isn't it? "

" Yes, that's the best idea you've come up with in your whole life ! " Elena said enthusiastically

" A camping? Seriously Joe, do I look in a mood for camping ? "

" Well, that's the only reason I suggested it, you need to have fun Cass, you're always lost in your thoughts, you always look sad. Cass it's time to move on ! "

Elena gave him a nudge, making him stop from talking while I just stared at him. My heart thudded and before alowing tears to make their way in my cheeks, I decided to go.

" Cass, wait " Elena said before I was out of sight.

I really hate it, I hate when people treat me like I'm just a pitiful person who needs their affection. I don't need them to care, I can live by my own, I don't need anyone's help, I can rely on myself. How dare he tells me that I'm always sad while he knew what I'm going through.

I don't know how long I sat here in this garden - yeah, I skipped school - just thinking over and over about Joe's words. I lost track of time that I didn't even realise that it was already 10 pm. I decided to go back home, Louis must be worried.

As I was walking in the street that was almost deserted - my neighborhood was less inhabited - my phone rang. I don't want to pick up but it can be Louis so I decided to answer. I don't have a contact list, I don't want to register anyone's number but I do know Loui's, Elena's and Joe's numbers by heart and this number, I was sure it wasn't any of them's.

" Hello ? "

" Cass, it's Joe "

GOD! Why does it have to be him ! I don't want to hear his apologise, I don't want to hear from him for the moment.

" Why are you calling from another phone? "

" As if you were going to pick up if I called you from my phone "

" Listen Joe, I'm really tired, can we talk tomorrow ? "

Suddenly, I felt like someone was stalking me, I can sense that seomeone is walking behind me copying my moves so that he won't be caught. I turned to see and before I could scream for help, someone has already put a handkerchief in my nose making me inhale something that made me lost conscious in the blink of an eye.

" Cass are you there? Cass why aren't you answering me? Cass ! "
