Joe's POV :

" Cass are you there? Cass why aren't you answering me? Cass ! "

I don't know why she hung up on me, was she that mad at me ? I admit that I somehow wasn't supposed to speak that way to her but I had to. I was her friend and I cared for her so much. I know that she was hurt, that my words were as sharp as a knife but someone had to wake her up, to shake her out from the misery she was making herself live in, to make her forget about the pain she was drowning in day after day. Like everybody, I totally understand her behaviour but it has been ten years now and she's still the same, she's still the Cassandra that appeared that day.

Ah, that day, I still remember it like it happened yesterday. I still remember every single detail. I can still remember that look in her eyes when she came to me.

We came back from a trip to London organised by our school. We were really happy because we really had a lot of fun. When we arrived, our parents were waiting for us in front of the school exept Cassandra's parents.

I asked my parents to wait until her parents come to pick her up. Elena already left with her parents so I had to keep Cassandra company. We waited for a long time but there was no sign of her parents. My parents then decided to drive her home.

I was lying in my bed thinking about the reason why Cassandra's parents didn't come to fetch her when I heard a knocking in my window's balcony. I opened it and found Cassandra standing there with a desperate look.

Yeah, since we were kids, we had this habit to knock in each other's window's balconies and sit for hours talking.

I knew from her look that something bad happened, I have never seen her in my life like that. Before I could ask her what's wrong, she leaned and wrapped her arms around me and started sobbing. She kept crying like a desperate person while repeating over and over " She left, she left me alone "

At that night, I knew that Cassandra's mother left once and for all without any explanation. Since that day, Cassandra's life went from worse to worse as I watched Cassandra that I met in kindergarten dying year after year.

The subtle sound of the song " Mighty long fall " brought me back to reality. I picked up thinking that it was Cassandra.

" Cass ? "

" Hello, um, actually, it's Louis "

" Oh hey, something's wrong ? "

" I just wanted to ask you, is Cass with you now ? "

" No, wasn't she supposed to be home by this time ? "

" She hasn't arrived yet. I called Elena but she's not with her nor with you. I'm really worried about her "

" I just called her a few minutes ago and she's really upset. Maybe she wants to stay alone . You don't have to worry "

" Ah okay, because I have been calling her and she wasn't responding "

" She'll be home in any minute now "

" Ok "

" If anything occurs, gimme a call "

" Sure, good night "

" Good night "

I hung up and tried to sleep. Tomorrow, I'm going to talk it out with Cassandra, I need to apologise to her.

Louis's POV :

It's almost midnight and Cassandra hasn't showed up yet. I really started worrying about her, she never stayed late outside, this was the first time. As much as I tried to ignore it since morning but I can't stop this weird feeling. Since I woke up today, I have been feeling like something bad is going to occur. And now that feeling is getting stronger and I'm afraid that something happened to my little Cass, I will never forgive myself if she is harmed.

I decided to wait for one hour but since she didn't show up till now, I called Joe. It took him a lot before he finally picked up.

" Um? "

" Joe, she's not home yet "

" Huh? "

" Cass isn't home ! "

" WHAT ! It's midnight, what is she doing outside at this time ?! "

" If I knew, I wouldn't call you. "

" I'll be there in one minute. We'll go look for her together "

" Ok, be quick ! "

We were in Chester's streets that were empty looking for Cass. We have been walking for an hour when I spotted a girl walking in front of us. Without thinking, I rushed towards her and grabbed her from her arm.

" Cass, thanks GOD ! I thought you were lost ! "

But when the girl turned to face me, disappointment washed over me.

" Excuse me? "

" Sorry, I thought you were someone "

" I can be that someone " she replied while leaning closer to me and running her hands through my chest

Heck! I dont want to deal with sluts right now. I pushed her gently and continued walking with Joe from behind.

We went to every hospital, restaurant, nightclub in Chester but it's like the earth has swallowed her. And the more I search, the more I feel worried. But after looking in every possible place in Chester, I came to the resolution that my little Cass is nowhere to be found ...
