ROSE'S POV
This is the day when I'll start the hunger games. When I'll probably die. From some Career tribute stabbing me in the face with an axe or snapping my neck like a fleshy stick. I try not to think about that sort of stuff but it seems to flood into my mind as I stand under my podium. I'd said goodbye to Dameon, Feona and Leona, but I had no idea where Arateal was. I rub the bracelet engraved with my dads words neevously. Had he been watching me on the television? Was he proud... Proud of me still... In my heart I was still his smart little girl. I feel a warm droplet streak down my face, followed by many more. I stare at my combat boots, tears dripping off my chin. I feel arms around me and I look up.
"Arateal, I'll miss you most of all." I cry out, squeezing her around her shoulders. She pats my back softly, stroking my up did hair. "I'm rooting for you, Rose." The hair stylist whispered, clipping something onto my bracelet. I look down, picking up the charm in my fingers. It's a shiny Rose pendant with rubies embedded into the silver petals. A final teardrop falls into Arateal's hand as the clock counts down.

Stepping into the tube, I nod at my hairstylist. She closes her eyes. She suddenly looks frail instead of the confident, bright woman I knew.
