From The rotten filthy scallywag's POV
JK it's Rose

Stirring, Rose gasped in breaths of air into her lungs. She spotted Jay next to her on the riverbank, still unconscious. A long, jagged wound ripped down his forearm, blood still seeping from it as the scar formed.
Looking around, searching for answers about how they'd been washed ashore, she spotted a new backpack, seeming to be paled with a supplies. The glimmer of scales underwater aught her eye.
  Rose shuddered.
The mutant fish in the river had nearly killed them, and now it darted around, eyeing a clump of rocks at the bottom.
Rocks?
No. A small girl, looking to be twelve, her short brown hair framing her pale face and covering the scratches left by the brambles.
A deep gash on her thigh resembled Jay's, but worse. The water was almost completely red, fish circling the unconscious girl laying on the riverbed.
Is that how we got up?
The girl risked her life to save ours?
I can't watch as the first fish dives in for the kill. I cant do anything, I'm glued to the shore, and I know it's too late for her. I feel guilty for her death.
Your fault, the canon seems to say as it shoots off in the distance.
